Players react to eight-straight defeat

Let’s head inside the New York Giants locker room to find out what players were saying after Sunday’s 31-13 loss to the Green Bay Packers that dropped them to 2-10 on the season.

Quarterback Daniel Jones on his frustrations...

“It’s disappointing to come up short and play like we did. We ran the ball better today. There were a number of things we did better. But as a group, we weren’t consistent enough and we weren’t able to score enough. That’s been the story. We have to be more consistent, we have to find ways to keep the ball moving forward and get the ball in the end zone when we have chances in the red zone. It’s disappointing, but we have to stay at it.”

Jones on the team’s attitude post-loss...

“It’s tough to lose. No one likes to lose. But through it, we’ve been able to stick together. We’ve been able to keep working together each week. We’ve put together good practices. Going forward, we have to maintain that focus and stay together. Work toward each week, but continue to improve.”

Wide receiver Sterling Shepard on the weather’s impact...

“I don’t think it played too much of a factor, to be honest. Maybe with running routes, if anything, but I felt like catching the ball was fine. You had some sprinkle in there a little bit, but then it started turning into ice and ice is fine. But yeah, we were getting that on-and-off all game. I don’t think it had much to do with anything but maybe running routes.”

Linebacker Alec Ogletree on maintaining effort down the stretch...

“Like I said, you’ve got to love football. If you don’t love this game, it will eat you up. I think we’ve got guys who love football, just haven’t found a way to finish games and win games yet, and you’ve just got to keep pushing forward.”

Linebacker Lorenzo Carter on the losses piling up...

“It’s disappointing, but you can’t be discouraged. When you’re discouraged, it’s over. You can’t come back from that. I don’t think anybody in here is discouraged, we’re more just disappointed that things aren’t falling the way we expected. We’re going to keep putting in work though. Nothing can change except the effort level.”

Linebacker Markus Golden on Packers QB Aaron Rodgers...

Aaron Rodgers is going to make plays whether you’re blitzing him, or whether you’re not. He’s going to make some plays. I respect him. he was able to make some big plays out there today. You can’t do nothing but respect him for that. They came out here and won the game. I wish I could have an excuse, but they won. They were the better team today.”

Center Jon Halapio on the practices leading up to a game...

“We practice and execute all week. We do a good job at being in tune with the game plan. We just have to transfer it over to the game, collectively, the entire team. We’re communicating, blocking better. We just need to be in sync consistently together. That’s the only way we can win.”
