Hopefully it’s nothing serious
It’s Wednesday, and that means it’s time for the first injury report of the week for your Minnesota Vikings as they prepare for their final road game of the 2019 NFL regular season. Let’s take a look at who practiced on Wednesday and in what capacity, as there are a couple of surprises on the report.
Did Not Practice
- RB Alexander Mattison (ankle)
Limited Participation
- CB Mike Hughes (hip)
- DT Linval Joseph (knee)
- CB Xavier Rhodes (ankle)
- WR Adam Thielen (hamstring)
Full Participation
- RB Dalvin Cook (chest)
- CB Holton Hill (shoulder)
- DT Jaleel Johnson (ankle)
- TE Kyle Rudolph (groin)
- DT Shamar Stephen (knee)
I’m not sure about anyone else, but I had not seen anything about Mattison being hurt prior to him appearing on the injury report here today. I know that Mike Boone got some carries at the end of the Lions’ game in relief of Dalvin Cook, but I thought they were just giving him a chance to get on the field in a game that was well in hand. Hopefully his ankle issue is nothing serious.
Once again, we’re also back to playing the “wait and see” game with Adam Thielen and his hamstring. The indications thus far have been that the team is optimistic about his chances of being on the field on Sunday afternoon, but whether it actually happens or not is a different issue.
We’ll obviously be tracking the Vikings’ injury situation throughout the week to see which direction players are trending as we get closer to Sunday.
