It would be a 'surprise' if Jason Garrett isn't Giants' next OC?

A report earlier on Wednesday indicated that the New York Giants were interviewing former Dallas Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett for their vacant offensive coordinator position. Garrett’s contract with the Cowboys expired earlier in the week. He was never coming back after Dallas hired Mike McCarthy as its head coach. There had been a ton of speculation that Garrett would return to his New Jersey roots. That now appears to be the case. According to this report, it would be a surprise if the longtime coach was not hired to be the Giants’ offensive coordinator under new head coach Joe Judge. Having only been a special teams coordinator and wide receivers coach in his career, Judge needs experience on his staff. At the very least, Garrett would provide that. Garrett, 53, coached in Dallas for 13 seasons. He began as the offensive coordinator before transitioning to head coach in replacing Wade Phillips back in 2010.
