It looks like it’s just about over for the Vikings
Just one quarter remains in this NFC Divisional Playoff contest, and the Minnesota Vikings trail the San Francisco 49ers by a score of 24-10.
The Niners received the second half kickoff, and their return was assisted by a penalty on Holton Hill for unnecessary roughness that gave the Niners a start at their own 37-yard line. After a third down conversion to Kendrick Bourne, the Niners were into Minnesota territory, but the defense stiffened and force the Niners to settle for a Robbie Gould field goal attempt. He connected from 35 yards out, and the lead for the home team was once again back to seven, 17-10.
The Vikings did the one thing that they couldn’t do on their next possession, as Kirk Cousins tried to hit Adam Thielen on a third down play and instead found the veteran, Richard Sherman, for an interception. The Niners took advantage, going 44 yards in eight plays. . .all runs. . .and saw Tevin Coleman go over from two yards out for his second touchdown of the day, giving the Niners a 24-10 lead with just under five minutes left in the quarter.
After the Vikings did manage to get a stop and force a 49ers punt, the usually sure-handed Marcus Sherels had the punt bounce right off of his chest and right to the 49ers, who took over at the Minnesota 8-yard line.
As we move to the fourth quarter of play, the Niners are looking at 3rd-and-goal from the Minnesota 4-yard line. They can close it out with a score here.
It looks like there are fifteen minutes left in the Minnesota Vikings’ 2019 season, as they trail the San Francisco 49ers by a score of 24-10 as we head to the fourth quarter. Come hang out with us until the end, won’t you?
