Saturday Open Thread
Good Morning!
Thursday was my first day off in a week, it was time to start putting the Christmas stuff away. I got the Christmas lights off the house and was getting ready to put them and the ladder away when I found my purple lights. Two years ago I purchased lights from Amazon when the Vikings made the playoffs and did a Fanpost about it. Bob and I have been flying our respective team’s flags all week, although Bob now has a flag that says Super Bowl Champions......I can’t top that, yet. We’ve had some new families moved into the ‘hood since 2017; one of the inquisitive little girls came over and said “those are nice lights, but Christmas is over, why did you put them up?” She’s six years old, so I carefully explained the meaning of the flags on the house and the purple lights. After a few seconds she said “but why aren’t you a Jaguars fan, my Daddy is.” Just as I was going to launch into a long detailed explanation of the highs and lows of Vikings’ fandom, she cut me off and said “I have to go play now.” Meanwhile, let’s carry on with our news and links open thread full of beer recommendations, nap strategies, crock pot and smoker recipes. Drop by for some fan wisdom, snark and go check the smoker, you don’t want dry brisket tonight.
