Denzelle Good played quite well as a spot starter at guard for the Raiders this past season, and he’s been rewarded one-year contract extension that the team made official on Thursday.

Good played the most snaps of any Raiders backup lineman this season, helping them retain status as one of the best units in the NFL through injuries. After making Richie Incognito their first signing of the Las Vegas era, they’ve followed suit with Good swiftly, establishing a nice pattern.
This re-signing had been expected after Good posted a tweet on Wednesday that read, “See you in Vegas.”

Investing in the trenches is key to success at the highest level in the NFL, and 300 pound dancing bears certainly don’t grow on trees or in a lab.
Last year, the Bills nabbed well-respected Raider backup guard Jon Feliciano in free agency, and he went on to become a key contributor on an AFC playoff team. This time around, the Raiders decided to be proactive and not let Good get to the open market.
This move also gives the Raiders an insurance policy if they decide to move on from Gabe Jackson this offseason. Jackson is coming off an injury-plagued down season, and his high cap hit might render him expendable.
Expect more moves to bolster the trenches in the coming months.
