Placekicker Austin Seibert and punter Jamie Gillan named to Pro Football Writers of America All-Rookie Team.

The 2019 season may not have gone as planned for the Cleveland Browns, but a pair of rookies were still rewarded for a solid season.

Placekicker Austin Seibert and punter Jamie Gillan were selected on Tuesday to the Pro Football Writers of America All-Rookie Team.

A fifth-round selection in the 2019 NFL Draft out of Oklahoma, Seibert converted on 25-of-29 field goals and 30 of 35 extra-point attempts. He finished the season with 100 points, which is the most by a Browns rookie in franchise history, according to the team’s website.

Gillan, an undrafted free agent from Arkansas-Pine Bluff, finished with a net punting average of 41.6, a single-season franchise record according to the team’s website, and dropped 28 punts inside the opponent’s 20-yard line while having just five touchbacks.

This is the third consecutive year that the Browns have landed at least one player on the all-rookie team. Defensive end Myles Garrett was selected in 2017, while quarterback Baker Mayfield and cornerback Denzel Ward were selected in 2018.
