San Francisco 49ers links for Saturday February 8, 2020
A full work week has passed since the 49ers were defeated in Super Bowl LIV, and for some 49ers fans, like myself, the week was spent completely unplugged from sports media, social media, and every other media which might remind us, or force us to come to terms with the defeat.
Texas Niner summed it up well on Twitter earlier this week when he asked:
Has anybody else started watching sports news or sports shows yet? I haven't been able to. I'm not in the mood for Jimmy G I told you so's, Mahomes is the greatest ever or Andy Reid feel good stories. Damn sure dont want to see the Chief's parade. Guess I'm still mourning..

And others chimed in as well:
I’ve been avoiding all sports shows radio and TV. So hard because it’s part of my everyday usually. I just can’t right now.

Avoiding all football related news. I’m still hurting too.

Nope, too soon. Maybe by the time the combine starts... or the draft.

Which is to say, it’s been a tough week for 49ers fans. The wound is still a little too fresh. Fans have no desire to hear the tired story lines no doubt being distributed by many in the national sports media.
But eventually, life goes on.
I am proud of the team, and the season that they had. So many amazing games and moments throughout the season. The 2019 49ers far exceeded expectations, and as a young team with playoff experience, they should continue to compete for the top spot for at least the next few years, which as fans is really all that we can ask for.
And now - for me at least - it’s time to move on. Time to end the radio silence. Time to put the 2019 season to bed, and start looking forward to 2020.
Time to start a new quest, for number six.
