The New York Jets have signed veteran tight end Daniel Brown to a one year contract extension. The Jets also have signed former Rutgers University and CFL Ottowa Redblacks safety Anthony Cioffi to a one year deal. Terms of the agreements have not been disclosed.

Anthony Cioffi, a 25 year old, 6’ 1”, 200 pound safety, played four years at Rutgers, playing cornerback, strong safety and free safety. Cioffi went undrafted in 2017 and was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Oakland Raiders, but he did not make the roster. Cioffi subsequently signed with the Ottowa Redblacks of the CFL, where he totaled 97 tackles, four sacks, three forced fumbles and two interceptions over two seasons. Cioffi was the New Jersey 100 meters state champion in 2012.

Daniel Brown, a 27 year old, 6’ 5”, 250 pound tight end out of James Madison University, was originally signed as an undrafted free agent by the Baltimore Ravens in 2015. Brown spent the first year of his career with the Ravens, alternating between the 53 man roster and the practice squad. The Ravens waived Brown in 2016 and he was claimed by the Chicago Bears, where he spent the next three seasons. The Jets signed Brown as an unrestricted free agent in 2019. With the Jets in 2019 Brown had five receptions for 72 yards and one touchdown, along with 6 tackles on special teams. For his career Brown has 42 receptions for 389 yards and two touchdowns, along with 11 tackles.
