The defending NFC champion San Francisco 49ers have a lot of work to do between now and the start of free agency on March 18. San Francisco currently finds itself less than $20 million under the cap with valuable free agents in that of Emmanuel Sanders, Arik Armstead and Jimmie Ward to worry about. It’s in this that it has been noted that the 49ers could move on from veteran receiver Marquise Goodwin, among others. Speaking at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis, 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan did not shy away from that possibility. In fact, he admitted that the team would be willing to trade Goodwin, via Matt Barrows of The Athletic: “You also don’t get rid of valuable people just for nothing. So we’ll have him come back and compete, and if that doesn’t work out, we could always possibly trade him. There are lots of things that are open. But I don’t know that exact answer yet.” Whether another team would show interest in trading for the injury-plagued 29-year-old receiver remains to be seen. Goodwin is
