Mocking Monday: 2020 NFL Mock Draft has the Arizona Cardinals bringing in some Bulldogs

It’s all about the offense and the Georgia Bulldogs in the latest 2020 NFL Mock Draft.

With it being Monday, we head back to Pro Football Focus and take a look at Mike Renner’s newest 2020 NFL Mock Draft.

He did so for two rounds and has the Arizona Cardinals getting a lot of help from the Georgia Bulldogs.

From PFF:

8. ARIZONA CARDINALS — OT ANDREW THOMAS, GEORGIA

Thomas has graded out as one of the best tackles in college football since his true freshman year, but he really took it to another level with a 92.4 overall grade this season. He gets protected to some degree in Georgia’s offense, but he still held up well with only six pressures allowed on 166 true pass-blocking sets in 2019.

40. ARIZONA CARDINALS – RB D’ANDRE SWIFT, GEORGIA

The Cardinals may very well choose to part ways with David Johnson and his inflated $14 million cap hit in 2020 (although it won’t be easy to do). Swift has similarly exceptional receiving skills after hauling in 73 catches for 666 yards in his three years at Georgia.

I’m fine with the positions, but Thomas concerns me a bit. Of course, as Walter pointed out the other day, the offense should help him in pass pro, but it seems like at eight you want a tackle that is rock solid and doesn’t need to be protected.

Swift is a nice back and I’m fine with the pick, except you have the two best running backs in the draft in Jonathan Taylor and J.K. Dobbins available.

What do you think?
