Monday Night open thread: With free agency around the corner, money is going to be scarce for a lot of teams

The NFL offseason is upon us and there will be a ton of movement going on.

We know that Phillip Rivers is moving on from the Los Angeles Chargers, but there are a number of other big name and likely big salary players that will be making moves this offseason.

The Cardinals won’t be in the market for a quarterback, but teams like the Indianapolis Colts, Las Vegas Raiders, Los Angeles Chargers and maybe even the New England Patriots and New Orleans.

That will do a couple of things.

1. That will take massive chunks out of those teams cap space.
2. Could make other players available for teams that do not need to pay a quarterback.

The interesting part is going to be those other big name free agents.

Jalen Ramsey and Jadeveon Clowney could be out of the NFC West.

However, you could get the 49ers taking a shot in 2020 and keeping Arik Armstead to run it back one more time.

Those are dangerous propositions for teams.

We saw the Patriots do so a number of times and it worked.

Of course there are others who have failed, the two that jump out were the 2011 Philadelphia Eagles “Dream Team” and even the 2019 LA Rams.

The NFL is going to look a lot different in 2020, it should be a fun offseason to see how we get there.
