As the XFL kicked off this Saturday, many, including NFL players, were tuning in to see if the rebooted league could offer anything worth watching. The first game of the season showed what the XFL is all about, with some absolutely huge hits (such as this), trick plays, explosive touchdowns, sideline interviews and transparent challenges. It didn’t take long for the second game of the afternoon to provide eye-opening content as well, and the sentiment on social media is that this league might have a chance. NFL players watching from home chimed in with their takes on the XFL action. Clearly, the XFL is doing some things right. Whether that translates to long-term success remains to be seen.
