Report: Broncos assistant coaches will not attend the Scouting Combine

Good morning Broncos Country

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Broncos Head Coach Vic Fangio has decided against having his assistant coaches attend the 2020 NFL Scouting Combine. Los Angeles Rams Head Coach Sean McVay has decided to do this as well.

According to Schefter, Fangio is leaving his assistants home because they feel like their time will be best served staying in Denver and watching film on the prospects instead of seeing them in person in Indianapolis.

However, the assistant coaches will not be left completely in the dark. They will be able to watch the workouts like the rest of us online and/or on television since it will be televised during prime time this year. Also, they will be receiving access to the private Combine interviews that Fangio and the Broncos Front Office members will be having with the prospects while in Indy.

This approach is a bit different than what teams have done in the past and Schefter theorizes that this trend could begin to spread throughout the NFL in the coming years. We shall see if that is the case or not and also if this will have any benefits on their upcoming drafts as well.

So what do you think Broncos Country? Do you like this idea? Hate this idea? Intrigued by it?
