The confidence in the 49ers plummeted

There was a “sky is falling” vibe the first couple of days this week. I was confident the San Francisco 49ers would win as they were the better team. Call it ignorant, but my stance hasn’t changed. If both the 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs played that same game ten times, I’d bet the Niners defense has a better chance of shutting Patrick Mahomes down more than we see San Francisco’s offense shoot themselves in the foot as they did this last Sunday. As the week went on, it felt like fans started to appreciate the season that was, despite the ending.
It’ll be interesting to see how the confidence poll goes over the next couple of months with free agency and the NFL Draft coming up. There is a lot of unknown about the 49ers offseason. Picking at No. 31 opens up a lot more draft options and creates more discussion than picking at No. 2. The worst kept secret last year was that San Francisco wanted Nick Bosa and Deebo Samuel.
What was your favorite moment from Super Bowl LIV?
How this graphic should read:
Jimmy Garoppolo winning MVP
Demi Lovato’s National Anthem
Shakira/J-Lo halftime show
Kwon Alexander’s fourth quarter INT return for a TD
San Francisco 49ers winning the game
Kyle Shanahan getting his Super Bowl revenge
What was your favorite Super Bowl commercial?
I’d love to hear the comments on your favorite commercial. There was a tie for first at 28.9%. Tie goes to the runner in baseball, and in this situation, the tie goes to Bill Murray. The commercial was a play on his famous 1993 comedy “Groundhog Day” commercial. If you haven’t seen it, here it is:
Legendary actor. Nostalgia. An animal. Tie in said actors hit movie with a slogan for what you’re promoting, and you have a marketing home run. Here is a random fact: Businesses spent as much as $5.6 million for a 30-second ad.
