It was pretty cool to see the Broncos head coach cooking while listening to the King of Cool earlier this week.
Good morning, Broncos Country!
Vic Fangio got even cooler this week.
The Denver Broncos sent out a short video of Fangio cooking in his kitchen. The Broncos head coach was rolling meatballs and we got a glimpse of his sauce. But the coolest part of the video was that Fangio was singing along to a Dean Martin tune. And it just happens to be my favorite Martin song, “Volare.”
As I told Adam Malnati on the MHR Radio Podcast, if I was able to jump into a DeLorean, I would travel back to the 1960s in Las Vegas to see Martin and Frank Sinatra, with Sammy Davis Jr perhaps making an appearance. I’m a huge, huge fan of Martin and Sinatra, as well as the Rat Pack, which also included Joey Bishop and Peter Lawford. In my man cave, I have a poster of the Rat Pack on the wall.

In these crazy and uncertain times, it’s nice to get a glimpse into the lives of Fangio and the other Broncos as they find distractions to pass the time, just like the rest of us. Adam wondered what the recipe was for Fangio’s meatballs. What kind of meat did he use? What kind of spices? I wondered if Denver’s head coach made his own pasta or used store-bought.
If Martin’s infamous song is now stuck in you’re head, you’re welcome.
“Volare, oh oh. E contare, oh oh oh oh ...”
