Ian Rapoport reported that San Francisco 49ers new defensive lineman Kerry Hyder’s contract would be worth up to $1.5 million. Hyder is guaranteed $550k and has a $250 total in per-game roster bonuses. Rapoport also reported Sheldon Day’s deal with the Colts is worth $1.75 million, with $1 million of that guaranteed. As for new linebacker Joe Walker, his deal is worth $900k, which is the same as Walker’s cap hit. He will have $75k total in per-game roster bonuses. With the addition of Walker and Hyder’s contract, their contracts push Nick Mullens and Marcell Harris’s deals out of the 49ers top-51. That means Harris and Mullen’s contracts don’t count against the 49ers salary cap. I still haven’t seen numbers for Travis Benjamin or Tom Compton yet, so that could change.

Our salary cap guru Jason Hurley currently has the 49ers with just over $14.2 million in cap space. That’s not counting the Compton or Benjamin deals—but it also doesn’t include Person being cut.

We don’t really get personal on this blog, but it’s tough to ignore what’s going on in the real world. If you’re struggling, talk to somebody. If you’re not, talk to somebody to make sure that they’re doing alright during these times. Everyone is different. If you can, support local businesses as often as you can, tip, and show your appreciation for those that are working. This can be a thread full of random thoughts, ideas, and how to cope during these times.
