NFL postpones consumer products summit in Tampa due to coronavirus

The NFL has postponed its annual Consumer Products Summit, which was set to take place next week in Tampa, due to growing COVID-19 (commonly known as coronavirus) concerns, per Sports Business Daily. From the report: “NFL spokesperson Brian McCarthy said the league had heard from an increasing number of teams, retailers and licensees who could no longer travel, before deciding to pull the plug. A new date has not been established.” This follows a growing trend of precautionary measures being taken by pro sports leagues. The NHL on Saturday closed off locker rooms for media availability due to concerns about the spread of coronavirus. The NBA is also talking about the same thing, and it’s been reported that MLS and MLB are also considering following suit.
