Report from NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport is latest sign that trade speculation surrounding Beckham is all just noise.

The Cleveland Browns will (finally) have new uniforms for the 2020 season, ending a five-year run where the team’s uniforms were as bad as their record.

The new uniforms will mark a return to the team’s “rich tradition” and its “unique distinction” as the only team in the league to sport orange and brown as its two primary colors, as the team’s website reported almost a year ago.

The Browns are keeping the news kits tightly under wraps until they are officially unveiled, which generally takes place right around the time of the NFL Draft in April. That looks to be the plan again this year and wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. will be in on the fun, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport:

As Rapoport explains:

“As the Cleveland Browns get set to unveil some new uniforms in April, they’ve done some of the shoots - very confidential, hopefully for them, nothing leaks. Among the players very, very involved in their uniform reveal is Odell Beckham Jr.

“So if you wondered if this organization is planning to have him for 2020, the answer very clearly is yes.”

This little bit of news from Rapoport is just the latest to shoot a hole in the idea that the Browns are going to move on from Beckham just one injury-plagued season after trading for him.

The idea started to gain steam near the end of last season with a series of reports that Beckham was telling opposing players and coaches to “come get him,” a notion that Beckham himself put to rest in December, according to cleveland.com:

“It’s done. It’s over with,. I’m not going anywhere. I’ll be here. We’re going to figure this thing out. It’s just too special to leave. We’re going to do it again, and correct all the little mistakes, and all the ‘if we would have did’ this games. It’s just too good.”

While that should have shut it down for good, but speculation continued through the early months of the offseason, to the point where general manager Andrew Berry addressed it during his media session last week at the NFL Combine, according to clevelandbrowns.com:

“Odell’s a very talented football player. We view him as part of our future. Kevin and I both have really good conversations about our expectations for him, and we expect him to adapt to those moving forward. We’re excited about the future with Odell … excited about what he’s going to do this fall.”

In reality, the speculation will not end until Beckham takes the field in September sporting one of the Browns new uniforms - a sight that is sure to make a lot of people outside of Cleveland pretty unhappy.
