Rob Gronkowski continues to make an impact even in retirement

ABC’s “Good Morning America” - 2019

When Rob Gronkowski is in the news these days, it is mostly because he is attending or organizing a party somewhere, being a guest on a TV show, or sharing his opinion on the NFL as an analyst. The former New England Patriots tight end is also equally busy as an active philanthropist, however, either through his family’s own Gronk Nation Youth Foundation or as a partner of the Make-A-Wish Foundation and the Patriots Foundation.

Just this week, Gronkowski returned to Foxborough to team up with the two foundations in order to fulfill the wish of Connecticut kid Clark Grady. Gronkowski, who retired from the NFL last offseason, is Clark’s favorite player and the two spent a day together at the team’s Gillette Stadium facilities — playing Madden NFL Football, visiting the team’s trophy collection, and taking a peak inside the locker room (featuring special appearances by current Patriots Chase Winovich and Duron Harmon).

The event came just a few days after Gronkowski visited another young fan in Amherst, New York. 14-year-old Kelsey Sorensen underwent numerous medical procedures after being diagnosed with a severe case of pancreatitis. Her mother, Roxanne, reached out to the Gronkowski family in hopes that they would support her either through sending over a signed item or possibly even visiting Kelsey at her home.

Last week, the wish came true and Roxanne took to social media to share her experience:

Tonight Rob came to our house with his father to meet Kelsey and present her with a signed football and then signed her jersey. He was also kind enough to donate a second ball to her benefit. They spent time talking to all of us and made this girls dream come true.

Rob is truly a class act and an amazing person. Kelsey hasn’t stopped smiling. She will remember this forever

Gronkowski may have stepped away from the gridiron but he continues to make a positive impact even in retirement.
