You knew moves would have to be made.
With the Saints new deal for Drew Brees reported to be for 2 years at $25 mil per, and the signings of FA Zach Wood and David Onyemata you knew the Saints cap space had to be just about deleted. It is obvious they will have to make several moves to make some room. Ian Rapoport is reporting that LB Kiko Alonso has agreed to stay on for less than the $7.8 mil he was due to make in 2020. No details yet on how much room this creates but this and more are needed. Stay tuned. I’m sure this is only one of several restructures and/or extensions to come.
The #Saints and LB Kiko Alonso have agreed to terms on a restricted deal and he’ll stay in New Orleans, source said. He’ll take less than the $7.8M he was slated to make, helping the team with some more space.
