Philadelphia Eagles news and links for 3/30/20.

Let’s get to the Philadelphia Eagles links ...

Jalen Reagor 2020 - Iggles Nest
If the Eagles don’t add an explosive player and DeSean Jackson gets hurt again (which is a safe bet), the offense will be in the same position it was in 2019, with a lumbering, grinding offense and little room for error. Barring an unexpected move, my evaluation of the Eagles’ need at receiver is this: they need an explosive player with inside/outside versatility. Agholor’s departure opens up a lot of snaps in the slot but whoever the Eagles draft will also need to be able to provide depth outside at the Z position behind DeSean Jackson and offer some big play insurance. And all of this is the reason why I want to talk about Jalen Reagor. [...] Doug Pederson and the Eagles love getting speedy receivers on safeties, as they should. It’s been an Eagles hallmark ever since the initial DeSean Jackson era. Get a fast receiver screaming downfield at a safety (who is presumably slower) and just let them run underneath a deep throw. Jalen Reagor can come in and execute those shot plays for the Eagles tomorrow if necessary. Reagor’s experience in the slot is strangely limited (only 275 snaps in the slot in 3 seasons) but his skill set profiles nicely as a slot receiver.

NFL Mock Draft Roundup: Jalen Reagor to the Eagles is the second most popular pick - BGN
Jalen Reagor had gone missing in the past couple mock roundups but he’s back now as the second most popular pick. He’s a bit of a polarizing prospect. Some love his explosive ability. Others are skeptical about his NFL projection. Former Eagles scout Daniel Jeremiah, for example, doesn’t even have Reagor ranked in his top 50 prospects.

NFC East 2020 free agency grades: Washington team edition - PhillyVoice
On the downside, what was the rush in trading Dunbar for less than he’s worth? Yes, the Williams situation did not play out well when Washington held onto him too long, but his situation and Dunbar’s are completely different. Williams’ beef was largely with the medical staff. Dunbar’s was financial. Yeah yeah, the players have to prove themselves to Ron Rivera and buy in and want to win and all that rah rah nonsense. But at the end of the day, Washington parted with a good starting corner who will only count for $3,421,875 on Seattle’s cap in 2020, and all they got in return was a late 5. Grade: C+.

Why Stephen A. is ‘sick to his stomach’ for Carson Wentz - ESPN
Stephen A. Smith is upset that Eagles GM Howie Roseman didn’t do enough for Carson Wentz by trading for DeAndre Hopkins.

Brandon Graham is keeping busy with high school football tapes, ‘Tiger King’ - NBCSP
How are you getting your sports fill? Watching old games? YouTube? BG: I’ve been watching old high school film that I got converted from VHS to USB. I have been watching alot of prank phone calls videos by the Steve Harvey morning show. They’re a great distraction.

Where are they now? C Jamaal Jackson - PE.com
It’s not how you start; it’s how you finish. Jamaal Jackson began in 2003 as an undrafted free agent center who was placed on the Eagles’ practice squad. Nine years later, he left the game as a five-year starter with 93 career games under his belt, including playoffs. Coming out of Delaware State, Jackson chose to sign with Philadelphia because, well, he was in the neighborhood. ”I was a local guy, I guess you could say, by playing my college ball at Delaware State,” Jackson says. “It was an opportunity that I felt was hard to pass up. I kind of wanted to be close to an area that I was familiar with, coming from Miami. They had a couple of scouts come down and they offered me a contract.” The Cowboys tried to do the same only a few weeks into Jackson’s stint on Philadelphia’s practice squad.

Redskins 2020 Free Agency: Ronald Darby signs 1-year, $4 million deal - Hogs Haven
The Redskins had an obvious need at CB, and have signed Kendall Fuller, and now Darby, to replace Norman and Dunbar. Fabian Moreau is also in the mix to start outside, and Jimmy Moreland is there to play in the slot. Washington also has a few young CBs who have dealt with injuries like Greg Stroman and Danny Johnson.

COVID-19 could impact Daniel Jones and the Giants’ draft - Big Blue View
Jones, however, now faces the prospect of learning a new offense without the benefit of having in-person contact with his teammates or coaches this offseason. This is something former Giants’ quarterback Eli Manning expounded upon recently. As he told Steve Serby with the New York Post, Jones’ second season might be impacted by the layoff: “It has the potential to be. A couple of things could make it difficult in the fact that it’s gonna be a new offense that he’s gotta learn, and things get pushed back and you’re not there to be around your teammates. It’s not just him learning it, it’s kind of everybody learning it together. Hopefully they can get back soon and he can grow as a leader of the team.”

Jordan Howard says he’s 100 percent after 2019 shoulder injury - Pro Football Talk
Howard did not carry the ball or catch a pass after Week Nine last season and missed all but one of the Eagles’ games over the remainder of the campaign with a shoulder injury. He only played one snap in the one game he did play over that span, so it’s little surprise that he faced a question about his condition when he met with the media this week. “I’m back to 100 percent now,” Howard said, via the Palm Beach Post. “It took a while, but I’m finally back to being 100 percent.”

The Rams will need to get a little creative to get back into NFC West contention - SB Nation
The Rams, after building for a narrow Super Bowl window, saw some incredibly players leave this offseason. Todd Gurley, Dante Fowler Jr., Cory Littleton, Clay Matthews, Nickell Robey-Coleman and Eric Weddle are all gone. They re-signed left tackle Andrew Whitworth and managed to retain Michael Brockers after his deal with the Ravens fell through. Still, there’s a lot of holes to fill. Unfortunately, they do not have a first-round pick for the fourth consecutive season.

Full list of XFL players signing with NFL teams - DraftKings Nation
The XFL only lasted five games due to the spread of Covid-19, but that short window gave players a chance to showcase their skills in a competitive environment. So far, we’ve seen the de facto league MVP P.J. Walker signed by the Carolina Panthers, but others from the league are getting looks as well.
