Do you love the addition of wide receiver Tee Higgins?
With the 33rd pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, the Cincinnati Bengals took Clemson Tigers receiver Tee Higgins.
As commissioner Roger Goodell ushered in Day 2, the Bengals took a player that will undoubtedly improve their roster to kick off the second round.
After talk of trading down, the Bengals decided to stay put. Their history may have given a glimpse that moving back was the move, but the Bengals are loading up on talent early and often.
Tee Higgins will further enhance their active offseason. The collegiate star is a dangerous receiver, and with a Bengals roster that’s been crippled by injuries in the past few seasons, this is an outstanding pick.
Joe Burrow was the Bengals’ first pick, selecting him No. 1 overall. That pick was obvious; everyone knew Burrow was going to be the play after weeks of talking to the 2019 Heisman Trophy winner.
Day 2 will open up more surprises.
However, Tee Higgins wasn’t necessarily one, as he was slated as one of the best players on the board to kick off the second round. The Bengals were always going to go with one of the notable best available players, and Higgins was certainly one of them.
There’s also familiarity between Higgins and Burrow, as the two faced off the national title game, which should give Bengals’ fans even more peace about this decision. Higgins combined for over 25 touchdowns and 2,000 yards over his last two seasons, helping establish Clemson as a national powerhouse.
Higgins will join a core of A.J. Green and Tyler Boyd, two players that should allow the elite route runner to see opponent’s third-string cornerback. That said, adding depth at the wide receiver was a great move and one that many should praise Duke Tobin for.
