I have no idea how Murray ended up falling all the way down here. He’s a good player, but hey, sometimes surprises like this happen when matching up fits and needs. He could end up going way earlier in the draft, and we just couldn’t let this guy fall out of the first round. He’s just way too good. So, congratulations, Chiefs. Things keep coming up roses for you. Of course, if you just wanted to reach out for one of the best remaining running backs, I’m not going to be mad about that, either.

While UDFA Charvarius Ward is coming off a strong second season, the team’s cornerback room is extremely thin after free agency. While he didn’t have a stellar performance against Ja’Marr Chase and LSU in the national championship game, Terrell is a long and athletic corner that would help address one of the team’s bigger needs.

According to widespread reports, Washington has signed a one-year contract with the Super Bowl champions.
He played alongside quarterback Mahomes in college with Texas Tech before spending the first four years of his NFL career with the Oakland Raiders, now known as the Las Vegas Raiders.
Mahomes praised his signing on Twitter, writing to Washington: “Glad to be back with my dawg! Welcome to #ChiefsKingdom.”

The second-ranked athlete prospect in the nation (and 40th overall player) according to Rivals in 2013, Seals-Jones picked the Aggies amongst his many suiters and went on to tally 123 catches for 1,442 yards and 10 touchdowns in 39 career games.
Seals-Jones was teammates with Chiefs’ safety Armani Watts at Texas A&M from 2014-16.

Oddsmakers have the Chiefs as the favorite to win the Super Bowl. Even with the juice, the Chiefs are a good betting value. Their 24.1% chance to win the Super Bowl (based on simulations) is #1 in the league. They are also a good bet to win the AFC at 9/4, 30.8%. Their sim chance is 39%. The Chiefs are averaging 11.9 wins per sim which makes them a decent bet to win over 11.5 games. At -450 the Chiefs are a good value to make the playoffs with a 98.2% chance. Their odds of winning their division are 0/1, 100%. They win the division in 86.8% of simulations. Based on wins per simulation they are projected to have the best record in the AFC.

It probably won’t be the last time Mahomes is mentioned on the popular game show. We’re not sure what the category was, but the clue illustrated just how good the last few months have been for the third-year superstar.
“Leading his team to a come-from-behind victory, this 24-year-old Kansas City QB became the youngest Super Bowl MVP winner in 2020,” the clue read.

Cooks slides into the WR2 spot in Houston, I think, even though we already have Will Fuller, Kenny Stills, and Keke Coutee with similar skill sets. There’s also Randall Cobb, no matter how hard I try to forget him.
Contract-wise, Cooks signed a six-year, $88MM contract in July 2018, which included $20.5MM guaranteed at the time. Adding David Johnson, Cobb, and Cooks to the roster will push our salary cap higher than it would have been keeping DeAndre Hopkins, but we now know that move was never about the money.
Cooks, who turns 27 this year, has suffered at least five (5) known concussions between the NFL and college, so it’s quite a gamble for the Texans to take. Additionally, Cooks was a ghost at times last year even when healthy, catching just 42 receptions on 72 targets. Cooks now joins his fourth team in the NFL since 2014. That’s really something.

Clowney was taken by the Texans at No. 1 overall in 2014, and he accounted for 29 sacks through his first five years with Houston. Still, he never quite lived up to his draft status as he dealt with injuries throughout his career.
The Texans decided to give Clowney the franchise tag, which he never signed because he was holding out for a long-term extension. Rather than tag-and-trade him (like the Chiefs and Seahawks did with Dee Ford and Frank Clark, respectively) earlier in the offseason, Houston waited until there wasn’t much of a market for him. Clowney nixed an attempt to trade him to the tanking Dolphins, and the Texans ended up sending him to the Seahawks, who knew Houston was just trying to offload him.

Some 72% of Americans polled said they would not attend if sporting events resumed without a vaccine for the coronavirus. The poll, which had a fairly small sample size of 762 respondents, was released Thursday by Seton Hall University’s Stillman School of Business.

The NFL announced Monday that the league would hold a “fully virtual” draft due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Reports: Chiefs re-signing CB Bashaud Breeland to one-year deal
Breeland. 28, is entering his seventh NFL season after being drafted out of Clemson by the Washington Redskins in the fourth round (102nd overall) in the 2014 NFL Draft. This will be Breeland’s second season with the Chiefs. The team signed him to a one-year deal worth $2 million in 2019.
Breeland certainly lived up to that deal in 2019, allowing a completion percentage of just 48.4 and a quarterback rating of 92.2, collecting 48 tackles (37 solo) eight passes defensed and two interceptions over 15 starts. In the playoffs, he collected 15 solo tackles, three passes defensed — and a big interception in Super Bowl LIV.
Breeland was expected to be seeking a longer-term deal in free agency. As a free agent in 2018, he had signed a three-year, $24 million dollar deal with the Carolina Panthers that was voided when he failed a physical after sustaining a foot infection.
