Bengals bringing in undrafted free agent WR Scotty Washington

NCAA Football: Louisville at Wake Forest Jeremy Brevard-USA TODAY Sports

Washington could be another big-time threat in the red zone.

The Cincinnati Bengals had an outstanding draft, and they’re continuing to pick up quality talent. After drafting seven players, the team has now gone out and brought in former Wake Forest wide receiver Scotty Washington.

Washington will join Tee Higgins in Cincinnati if he can make the cut on the 53-man roster.

The aspect of Washington’s game that stands out the most is his height.

At 6-foot-5, Washington should be able to be a prime red zone threat. He’ll join other length and tall receivers like A.J. Green and Tee Higgins in Cincinnati. He had seven touchdowns on 35 receptions his senior season.

Playing four seasons at Wake Forest, Washington didn’t have an overly impressive collegiate career, notching over 700 yards just once. He also appeared in just eight games the past two seasons, so staying on the field could be a concern.

Washington will have to earn his spot with Auden Tate, John Ross III, Tee Higgins, Tyler Boyd and Green among others, but at the very least, he’s landing on a roster to showcase his talent, a positive for any UDFA.
