Good morning, Gang Green Nation!
I took a walk around the neighborhood yesterday. That’s more or less all that’s left to do outside of our individual cocoons these days. As I passed a neighbor, in deep conversation with another neighbor, everybody keeping their six degrees of separation, the one neighbor was explaining to the other neighbor how upsetting it was that she could not get her piano tuned because of the current pandemic. You see, she has four pianos, but the one is her favorite, and it is out of tune, and this was her burden to bear in the face of the pandemic.
I live in one of the hardest hit counties in the country outside of New York City. Hospitals are overwhelmed, neighbors are sick, some are dying. And in this brave new world we are all navigating, many of us remain relatively unscathed. Whether we thank our deity or our lucky stars or just the randomness of the universe, so many of us have so much to be grateful for in these trying times. Perhaps it takes trying times to be reminded of that.
