The 2020 NFL Draft is weeks away and with the Cincinnati Bengals expected to take Joe Burrow with the No. 1 overall pick, the Washington Redskins will have their choice of the lot after that. As of now, the Redskins are reportedly expected to take Ohio State defensive end Chase Young with the No. 2 pick. According to ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith, the Redskins are not going to touch Tagovailoa. Instead, owner Daniel Snyder wants the team to draft Young and the team is likely to pass on Alabama’s star quarterback to take the best defensive player in this draft class. There is still time for Snyder and the Redskins to change their mind. The front office is also reportedly very open to trading down from the No. 2 spot, but they’d be seeking a haul similar to what they gave away in 2012 to land Robert Griffin III. In the 2012 NFL Draft, the Redskins traded three first-round picks and a second-round pick to move up from No. 6 to No. 2 to land RGIII. Tagovailoa is considered by many to be an elite quarterback prospect.
