HBCUs in the 1990s gave us some 2nd/3rd round gems in Michael Strahan, Jimmy Smith, and Aeneas Williams... and late round gems like Shannon Sharpe and Donald Driver. But there were only 7 1st round picks in the decade. The widespread influence was gone.

From '63 to '68, there were 11 HOFers drafted out of HBCUs, including four in 1967: Ken Houston (Prairie View), Lem Barney (Jackson State), Willie Lanier (Morgan State), and Rayfield Wright (Fort Valley State).
