Had a reporter ask me “who does @StevenSimsJr compare to in the NFL?” My answer: “NOBODY” , there is no one who moves like Steve Sims that I have seen!!! He is different “Train Like A Pro” #alwaysopen

Haskins seemed to turn a corner in weeks 15/16 last year. Was put in a pretty bad situation as a rookie. I agree that he's being a bit undervalued right now. https://t.co/7tTmhOnbC1
— Football Perspective (@fbgchase) May 15, 2020
It's amazing how quickly people bailed on Haskins. https://t.co/H6O89qEGre
— Albert Breer (@AlbertBreer) May 15, 2020
I'm not saying he has. Or that he's definitely gonna make it. But referendums on QBs after one year are ridiculous. https://t.co/dhWdYsdiS2

Podcast with Urban Meyer. On Terry McLaurin: “best team player maybe I ever had.” On the NFL: “it’s very intriguing...” says he doesn’t know about the coaching element. Team prez? “I don’t know... I’m young enough to keep researching (the NFL).” https://t.co/rDYi6V6GJ4
— John Keim (@john_keim) May 15, 2020
He also had lowered his body fat last season. At one point earlier in the season He had told me it went from around 17 percent to 13 during the season. Could see a difference in his movement (some of which resulted from feeling more comfy too) https://t.co/r2Yz40a9EA

And they were never going to get anything better. Said it at the time but Nobody I spoke to felt they would... Not for someone who missed a lot of games in his only two seasons as a full-time starter and was entering final year. https://t.co/8m7QNqRV7j

No. They had some talks about doing something later. (Same with Kerrigan). But there was no deal. https://t.co/eZKyIwL8ID

From the NFL to owners and presidents regarding the potential reopening of facilities amid the Coronavirus pandemic pic.twitter.com/YKpyDQaGvq
— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) May 15, 2020
From @NFLTotalAccess: NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell told teams facilities can begin reopening on Tuesday under certain guidelines. What it means pic.twitter.com/mqAjuEv96o
— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) May 15, 2020
The reopening of NFL facilities will be uneven, which is why coaches are not allowed back yet. For instance, according to the Giants, they are not yet allowed to return to their building under local rules in NJ.
— Judy Battista (@judybattista) May 15, 2020
On NFL facilities starting to open next week, approximately 22 of the 32 teams would be able to open under current local rules.

It really sounds like the bad idea you propose to the boss so he can feel like he "chose" your good idea. Except without the good idea. https://t.co/3MjDJt4CuW
— Mike Tanier (@MikeTanier) May 15, 2020
2020 is the most unpredictable year imagine but I did not foresee the Jets getting a chance to trade Adam Gase for Eric Bieniemy and a bump in the 3rd round.
— Football Perspective (@fbgchase) May 15, 2020
I'll say this--if we're gonna criticize this idea (which is totally valid), we have to talk about what *might* work instead, and why the previous solutions haven't been effective.
— Mina Kimes (@minakimes) May 15, 2020
And we gotta acknowledge the problem exists.
I don't think just saying "this is bad" is productive when many people won't even acknowledge there's an issue
— Mina Kimes (@minakimes) May 15, 2020
all the more reason why it's worth stressing that a. the problem exists and b. this isn't the only solution
— Mina Kimes (@minakimes) May 15, 2020
To paraphrase Paul Tagliabue at a conference in January: the problem is that the league needs better owners.
— Mike Tanier (@MikeTanier) May 15, 2020
Great, great job by my colleague and @HowardU brother @JimTrotter_NFL for breaking and reporting the hell out of the story about league proposals to enhance diversity hiring. https://t.co/GGrOWidvJN

If there's one thing we know that NFL teams know how to value, it's....
— Football Perspective (@fbgchase) May 15, 2020
3rd and 4th round draft picks? https://t.co/BOgAeP0r06
Being the comp pick guy, the biggest question I'd have is whether the new ways to get a compensatory pick described here would push more regular comp picks out of the 32 pick limit. The CBA strictly says that there must be exactly 32, so the NFLPA would have to sign off on more.
— Nick Korte (@nickkorte) May 15, 2020
And Art. 6, §10 says:
— Nick Korte (@nickkorte) May 15, 2020
"Compensatory Draft Selections shall be determined in accordance with the rules and procedures set forth in Appendix V, subject to any future changes as to which the parties may agree."https://t.co/Z3yPPWzNV3
Nothing about this new rule in App. V.
pro sports also has a huge problem for minority hiring that's really hard to correct -- the colossal advantage coaches' sons have in the job market. and since the coaches are already primarily white...you see how it goes.
— bomani (@bomani_jones) May 15, 2020
Minority hiring in the #NFL - my thoughts on the new proposal to be voted on by owners https://t.co/dQZCMuYqHB
— Louis Riddick (@LRiddickESPN) May 16, 2020
But hey it’s Friday afternoon and the world’s on fire, so by the time next week rolls around, everyone will have forgotten the NFL doesn’t appear to be serious about fixing an inequality problem but sure wants to look like they tried.
— Darin Gantt (@daringantt) May 15, 2020
On next Tuesday's video conference, NFL owners are to consider the draft-position proposal on minority hiring, vote on raising the per-team debt ceiling from $350 million, and be briefed by Allen Sills, the league's chief medical officer. No rule-change proposals next week.
— MarkMaske (@MarkMaske) May 15, 2020
Also, no votes on playing rules proposals are on the agenda for the 5/19 call, which is slated for just two hours. The league has another call set for 5/29. Playing rules proposals could be voted on then.
— Albert Breer (@AlbertBreer) May 15, 2020
Translation: Teams have to share 34 percent of 85 percent of the visiting team share. If the 85 percent of the tickets aren't sold, teams have to pay the rest out of pocket.
— Albert Breer (@AlbertBreer) May 15, 2020
This year, that requirement will be waived. For obvious reasons.
The owners speak again by video conference May 28 on rules issues. They vote on proposals (sky judge, fourth-and-15 alternative to onside kick, restoring OT to 15 minutes). League and competition committee might recommend sky judge (or other replay tweak) as preseason experiment.

Rodgers, asked to expand on WHY he wasn’t thrilled about the Love pick:
— Andrew Siciliano (@AndrewSiciliano) May 15, 2020
“I think it’s more the surprise of the pick based on my own feelings of wanting to play into my 40s."
“It does change the controlables a little bit."
Aaron Rodgers is 36. “The goal is, obviously, to play in my 40s. That hasn’t changed."

Amazing the headline doesn’t match what I said. Didn’t think that happened at places like SI. I’ve been saying for over a month, including on HBO in April, that some ambient crowd noise under a broadcast is a simple, necessary tool to normalize the viewing experience at home.... https://t.co/6JY11ZcGZU
— Joe Buck (@Buck) May 14, 2020
There is no “traditional” take on this topic. It’s new territory. Hoping stadiums are full and all is normal. If not, then it’s a blank canvas. All networks will try to make it look and sound as normal as possible. It could lead to unprecedented, thrilling access. Who knows?
— Joe Buck (@Buck) May 14, 2020
But Crowd reactions are an enormous piece of the TV puzzle. All reactions by a crowd are valuable and to be used - as far as I know. I use it as much as I can and still keep my job. Big moments like the Minn. Miracle are MADE on tv because of the crowd noise.
— Joe Buck (@Buck) May 14, 2020
It doesn’t have to be over the top. But something has to be there. Contrary to the misleading headline at SI and other places - I said FOX is WORKING on virtual fans. They are working everyday on ANYTHING to make our shows the best on TV. That’s exciting to me, and I am thankful
— Joe Buck (@Buck) May 14, 2020
Some ideas will work and some won’t. That’s the nature of WORKING on something. It’s uncharted water. It could be a very exciting time in network TV coverage. I can’t wait to see how it all plays out. Praying for a SAFE return to a stadium near you for all involved.
— Joe Buck (@Buck) May 14, 2020
Also I want it quiet enough so that Jim Nantz and Tony Romo can call the game like they are at the Masters.
