Let’s get to the Philadelphia Eagles links ...

NFL free agency: LeSean McCoy could see himself returning to Eagles - NBCSP
The Eagles are looking for a veteran running back. LeSean McCoy is looking for a team. Hmmmm. “I could see that,” McCoy said Wednesday on NFL Network’s Good Morning Football. “On another note, since I left, you haven’t seen the 25 active in green, so you never know. I’m going to keep my options open, though. I could see myself there in Philly. Like I said, that’s home, so you never know.”

LeSean McCoy on Famous ‘Avengers: Endgame’ Spoiler: ‘Worst Decision Of My Life: TRAINA THOUGHTS - Sports Illustrated
The Chiefs running back appeared on Wednesday’s Good Morning Football and admitted that those tweets were “the worst decision of my life.” He also offered an apology and tremendous explanation. “I didn’t know the reaction of the people,” McCoy said. ”I didn’t know that. If I knew that, I never would’ve tweeted that. I didn’t know that people really got into them cartoons like that.” I DIDN’T KNOW PEOPLE REALLY GO INTO THEM CARTOONS LIKE THAT!!! I’m not a Marvel guy, so I can laugh and be highly amused at McCoy basically comparing Avengers to Bugs Bunny or The Flintstones. But, man, he just pissed off a whole other wave of people.

Eagles’ new medical staff hires came from two of the NFL’s healthiest teams in 2019 - BGN
Roseman’s words proved to be more than mere lip service. The Eagles made two significant medical staff additions this offseason by hiring 1) former Minnesota Vikings coordinator of rehabilitation/assistant athletic trainer Tom Hunkele as Philly’s new director of sports medicine and 2) former Los Angeles Rams director of strength training and performance Ted Rath as Philly’s new director of sports performance. If AGL is any indication, there’s reason to be encouraged by these hires. The Vikings finished as THE healthiest team in 2019. The Rams, meanwhile, were the 10th healthiest group.

Preseason All-NFC East team: Offense edition - PhillyVoice
Quarterback: Carson Wentz, Eagles. Dak Prescott has slightly better stats and he’s more durable, but if we’re looking at their actual talents, and if we’re taking into consideration what each player has been able to do with their respective supporting casts, Wentz is is the quarterback who gives you a better chance at winning a Super Bowl.

Tony Gwynn - Iggles Blitz
There are plenty of other good players. Brandon Brooks is one of the best RGs in the league. He has some dominant moments. Carson Wentz is still showing us what he is. In 2017, he looked special. Last year down the stretch, he was outstanding. Wentz can still be even better. The sky is the limit with him. I’m curious to see what the future holds for Miles Sanders. At the very least, he is a terrific RB and a lot of fun to watch. DeSean Jackson is a unique player. He’ll have to buy a ticket to get into Canton, but he still can be incredibly fun to watch. After Week 1 last year, we thought we were in for a fun season. Things didn’t work out that way. When Jackson is out there this year, make sure you enjoy watching him run by DBs.

2020 NFL player prop predictions: An over or under for all 32 teams - ESPN+
Philadelphia Eagles: Over/under: 3,944.5 passing yards for Carson Wentz. Over. Wentz threw for 4,039 yards last season without having a receiver reach the 500-yard mark. He’ll have a more explosive group in 2020 with Marquise Goodwin and first-round pick Jalen Reagor joining a now-healthy DeSean Jackson. While Jalen Hurts is expected to see the field, it shouldn’t reduce Wentz’s touches to the point that it will dramatically impact his stats.

How NFL teams and players are preparing for a major salary cap hit because of COVID-19 - CBS Sports
Teams like the Falcons and Eagles (who have 12 players accounting individually for more than $10 million against the cap in 2021) would look to their big-ticket players and try to convert some of that guaranteed base into a signing bonus to create cap relief, similar to what Jared Goff did for the Rams this offseason. That won’t fix everything, though, and multiple sources indicated one group in particular that will get hit the hardest. “You know what group has the potential to get screwed? Who’s really going to hurt is the NFL’s middle class,” one agent told me.

The strength of each NFL division, ranked - Fake Teams
7. NFC East. Strengths: The Eagles and Cowboys know the importance of a strong offensive line. Both teams finished in the top 5 in PFF in offensive line gradings last year. They didn’t lose much from that solid set. Dallas arguably underperformed last year and should be on the rise this year. The Eagles secondary will be bolstered with the addition of Darius Slay. Javon Hargrave gives the Eagles a needed punch on the line. Weaknesses: A 4-12 New York Giants with a relatively new quarterback doesn’t instill a ton of faith in me, neither does a Washington Redskins team with a new coach and uncertainty at quarterback who finished 2nd to last in the league in yards and dead last in points scored. This was the only division in the league without a 10 win team last year. Washington and New York had bottom 10 defensese last year in yardage and points allowed. #2 overall draft pick Chase Young can help that a bit for Washington as can Xavier McKinney with the Giants but not nearly enough to offset the hole they are in. There also seems to be a health bug among this division almost more so than other divisions. Last year they saw (arguably) the divisions currently best quarterback play his 2nd full season of health in four years (only leading to a 9-7 season) while one of the best running backs in the league (Saquon Barkley) went out with injury and Washington went through a handful of quarterback with injuries.

Q&A with Bleeding Green Nation: Will Raequan Williams make the Philadelphia Eagles’ roster? - The Only Colors
One such UDFA signee was defensive tackle, and Michigan State fan favorite, Raequan Williams. Williams signed with the Philadelphia Eagles immediately following the Draft and enters into a crowded defensive line rotation in the City of Brotherly Love. What are Williams’ chances of making the active roster and what might his role be with the Eagles? We spoke to Brandon Lee Gowton, Eagles reporter and managing editor-in-chief of SB Nation’s Bleeding Green Nation — the quintessential website for all things Philadelphia Eagles.

The NFL players and coaches who aren’t in the Hall of Fame, but should be - The Athletic
Dick Vermeil: Vermeil is the great rebuilder. During a coaching career that spanned three decades, he turned three struggling franchises into contenders — and one into a Super Bowl champion. The Eagles were coming off nine consecutive non-winning seasons when Vermeil was hired in 1976; he had them in the Super Bowl for the first time ever in 1980. The Rams were another reclamation project when Vermeil was hired in 1996; his 1999 Greatest Show on Turf team won Super Bowl XXXIV. He was hired for one more rebuild in Kansas City in 2001, and in 2003 won 13 games in Kansas City. Vermeil can’t match the winning percentage of other coaches in Canton (or even on this list) but the degree of difficulty with the teams he turned into contenders warrants him consideration. Unlike other coaches on this list, Vermeil only coached one truly great quarterback (Kurt Warner in St. Louis) and showed he could build winning teams in multiple ways.

Domonique Foxworth made the case for Dak Prescott over Carson Wentz and he’s 100% right - Blogging The Boys
Foxworth makes a very interesting argument in that the Carson Wentz surrounding cast, one that Eagles fans cite as inferior to Dak Prescott’s which should explain the former’s lack of success, literally won the Super Bowl without him three years ago. It’s kind of hard to say that they aren’t of serious merit. Of course, the Eagles dealt with tons of injuries last season which didn’t help their cause and to Wentz’s credit, also to the credit of the 2019 Cowboys coaching staff, he and his team persevered and won the NFC East. Still, though, nobody is arguing that Carson Wentz isn’t good, just that Dak Prescott is more accomplished. That is objectively true as Domonique Foxworth noted on Tuesday on ESPN.

Giants’ WR Darius Slayton ready to build off strong rookie season - Big Blue View
Darius Slayton played in his first NFL game in Week 3 of the 2019 season against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers - a game that the Giants won narrowly, 32-31. It wasn’t until two weeks later when the Giants played the Minnesota Vikings that Slayton hit his stride as he recorded four receptions for a team-leading 62 yards and one touchdown. “The game just started to get progressively slower and slower for me from that point on,” Slayton said Tuesday night on SiriusXM NFL Radio with hosts Alex Marvez and Hall of Famer Gil Brandt. Slayton finished his 2019 campaign among the top five rookies in Giants history in receptions, yards and touchdowns with 48 grabs, 740 yards and 8 scores. He recorded two touchdowns in a single game three separate times last season, quickly becoming one of the Giants’ most productive receivers.

NFL extends ‘virtual’ offseason program through end of May - DraftKings Nation
The NFL has been using a virtual offseason program for its 32 clubs, and on Wednesday, extended the virtual programs through the end of May, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. The virtual offseason was originally scheduled to run through this Friday, May 15th. Some states are easing coronavirus-related business restrictions, but many states that are home to NFL teams have not yet eased them enough to result in a return to action. The NFL previously said that if one team could not practice in person, none of the teams would be allowed to.

Dynasty Rankings: Defining a Dynasty - Football Outsiders
A team earns 6 points if they win a championship while finishing with a winning percentage of .8125 or higher. (Thresholds for win-loss percentages will be explained later.) This is the highest score a team can earn in any one season; the result of stomping through the regular season with little resistance and going on to win the championship at the end of the season. Recent teams to earn six points include the 2017 Philadelphia Eagles, the 2016 New England Patriots, and the 2013 Seattle Seahawks.

I’m pretty sure I designed the Rams’ new bone uniforms in Madden NFL 2004 - SB Nation
Somewhere on the hard drive of my long-forgotten Xbox with my Madden NFL 2004 saves exists this jersey — I’m sure of it. I’m speaking specifically here about the alternate jersey Jalen Ramsey (No. 20) is wearing here, which has been characterized by the team itself as “bone on bone.” [BLG Note: These new jerseys are straight trash. Shame because the Rams’ old blue and gold combo was pretty good.]
