The data indicate that Peters is still capable of playing a high number of snaps per season (he played in 29 games in ‘18 & ‘19 combined), that he is a capable pass blocker and run blocker, and that a year ago he was measurably better than Donald Penn. I’ll be honest with you, prior to the draft, I was 100% opposed to signing Peters, seeing it as a bad patch on a leaky tire. But with Charles on the roster, my attitude has changed. Peters could be exactly the right guy in exactly the right point in his career to join a young Redskins team, adding experience, leadership and quality on-field play that would make the team more competitive and give Saahdiq Charles the best opportunity to blossom into a talented NFL lineman. It seems to me that if the team and the player could find a contract structure that works for everyone, then the Redskins and Peters could be the best match available for both parties for the coming season.

The Cleveland Browns drafted Jedrick Wills in the top 10 of the last draft and signed Jack Conklin this offseason. The Philadelphia Eagles have last year’s first-round pick Andre Dillard as well as Lane Johnson on the right side. The Jets just drafted Mekhi Becton, and while their tackle situation is even more dire than Denver’s, they also have less cap space.

2) What are his strengths? Rushing, obviously. Hurts is a solidly built player with sub 4.5 speed before bulking up a little at Oklahoma. He’s a gifted, smooth runner with that uncanny feel for never quite taking a direct hit. He was a monster in goal line situations, as he could power through defenders or beat them to the edge or QB sweeps. He’s extremely tough to sack, and the first rusher almost never manages to get him. Most of the sacks he did take in his career were of the -1 yard variety where he dodged a rusher or two and just barely didn’t get back to the line of scrimmage. As a passer, he’s got a great release and can really throw a fastball on those short-to-intermediate routes across the middle, and can launch a ball deep downfield with a powerful, horizontal trajectory. When he’s flushed out of the pocket, he’s great at throwing on the run to receivers coming back to him on the sidelines.

I don’t think the Eagles need to carry four quarterbacks, two of them being developmental. They’d only cut him if they’re able to bring in a veteran. Enter McCown, who should be healthy by June. Via John Ourand of Sports Business Journal, FOX’s Joe Buck told Andy Cohen of SiriusXM Radio that “it’s pretty much a done deal” that the FOX and other networks will use fake crowd noise for games played without fans.

The KBO, South Korea’s baseball league, has held live games for some time now. The stadiums are still empty, since fans are still not allowed in due to the coronavirus pandemic. The league hopes to gradually allow a certain percentage of fans as things improve in the country. But until then, the KBO has found a creative way to fill those seats: cardboard cutouts. It’s such a small and silly gesture that you wouldn’t think much of it had someone proposed the idea to you but after watching a game between the NC Dinos and the LG Twins, it made all the difference. The cutouts were complete with NC Dinos jerseys and speech bubbles to make them more lively. Members of BTS were “in attendance”, as well as dogs, cats, and even babies. The idea is so wholesome.
