The schedule is officially set
While the 2020 preseason and regular season schedules were released by the National Football League last week, a couple of the dates and times for preseason games had not yet been finalized. This is because the NFL tends to spread preseason games out over several days of each preseason week.
Now, we have the Minnesota Vikings’ full preseason schedule, including all of the dates and all the times.
The preseason will kick off on Friday, 14 August, with the Vikings hosting the Houston Texans at U.S. Bank Stadium. Kickoff for that one is scheduled for 7:00 PM Central time. The second preseason game for the Vikings will also take place on a Friday, as on 21 August they’ll head to Ohio to take on the Cincinnati Bengals. Kickoff for that one will be slightly earlier, with things getting underway at 6:00 PM Central.
The Vikings will then get a slightly longer break before Game #3, as they’ll travel back to Ohio to take on the Cleveland Browns on Sunday, 30 August in the All-Important Third Preseason Game™. That’s going to be a nationally-televised contest on FOX, with kickoff slated for 3:00 PM Central.
Minnesota will then conclude the preseason with their (seemingly) traditional date with the Seattle Seahawks, where they will return to U.S. Bank Stadium. As the fourth preseason game generally is, this one will take place on a Thursday, 3 September, and kickoff will be back to 7:00 PM Central time.
With the exception of the Browns game, all of the Vikings’ preseason games will be televised on KSTP-9 in the Twin Cities and, at some point, will be shown on the NFL Network. Obviously, we’re nowhere near having that schedule yet.
So, that’s your look at the Vikings’ complete 2020 preseason schedule. Can you feel the excitement?
