5. The competition in the AFC really isn’t that good.
You have to get to the Super Bowl in order to win it and the Chiefs had a very favorable path to Miami last January. Kansas City dispatched AFC South foes Houston and Tennessee at home to get to the big game, where they took care of business against San Francisco.
The NFC remains rugged but the AFC has gotten significantly weaker this season. Tom Brady’s move from New England to Tampa Bay has diminished the Patriots’ threat level while Bill O’Brien actively made moves that were not in the best short-term interests of the Texans.
The Baltimore Ravens are still a force to be reckoned with, but outside of them finding a team capable of pushing the Chiefs in the AFC is a tall order. Simply being in the weaker conference automatically boosts the Chiefs’ odds of winning another Super Bowl.

CORNERBACK: The Chiefs got a nice 2019 from Rashad Fenton (47.1 completion percentage allowed, 57.7 quarterback rating and no missed tackles). He could be a low-cost building block here, but as the rest of football expands to match Kansas City’s explosiveness, they’ll need more bodies on the back end. Tyrann Mathieu is not going to be enough. Again, this is nitpicking. The Chiefs are Super Bowl champions and possess the best player in football. So, everything gets held up to a gargantuan standard.

Long-time NFL scout and current insider Daniel Jeremiah says the Broncos now possess one of the fastest quintets of offensive skill players from 11 personnel in the entire NFL.
The Broncos dabbled a bit in every department of improving the offense this offseason. Adding Graham Glasgow to help the offensive line and Melvin Gordon to complement Philip Lindsay and the run game. However, if one were to look at the actions of the Broncos’ overall this offseason, one would argue that Elway and the Broncos’ front office emphasized the passing weapons surrounding Lock above everything else.
There is a common narrative surrounding the AFC West this offseason in trying to dethrone the reigning Super Bowl-Champion Kansas City Chiefs. Led by phenom Patrick Mahomes, a bevy of explosive pass catchers, and an offensive mastermind in Andy Reid, the Broncos, Raiders, and Chargers are left with two choices: build a defense to slow down the Chiefs or build an offense that can keep up.

11. Travis Kelce
The Case For: Kelce has cemented himself as the best tight end in the league with four straight 1,000-yard seasons. He has an elite quarterback in Patrick Mahomes and he’s one of the few tight ends in the league who is guaranteed 120 targets per year. He’s also never had a season below 8.5 yards per target. Last year was a bit of a down year for Kelce because of Mahomes’ injuries and bad touchdown luck. He still outscored every other tight end by 32 Fantasy points. That’s worth a late first round pick.
The Case Against: Kelce is on the wrong side of 30 and there have been very few tight ends who remain elite late in their careers. The Chiefs also have several young weapons like Clyde Edwards-Helaire and Mecole Hardman who will battle for a small piece of Kelce’s target share.

Now that CEH is on the Chiefs and went at the top of most 1QB rookie drafts, all eyes are on him to produce in 2020. As much as we’d like to say he’ll be the best option on that offense, 2019 shows us that there is a lot that we can’t predict when it comes to Andy Reid’s offense.
With the rise of Edwards-Helaire comes the fall of Damien Williams’ value. As of February 2020, Edwards-Helaire had an ADP of 58 overall with Williams at 94 overall, both largely due to the impending uncertainty both were facing. Now, Edwards-Helaire is going 13th overall, while Williams has dropped to 132 overall. That’s quite a shift in values if you ask me.
So, what does this mean for fantasy owners? Which Chiefs fantasy running back is the one you should be targeting, and which one should you avoid? Contrary to popular opinion, CEH is a sell for me, and Williams is a buy or hold.
To me, CEH’s value is potentially already at its peak, and he hasn’t even played a snap in the NFL. I’d much rather own Joe Mixon, Nick Chubb, Miles Sanders, or Josh Jacobs, all of whom are going right around Edwards-Helaire in ADP. I’m not saying you can make a one-for-one trade, but those are definitely guys I’d target.

Later Saturday, the Browns QB and No. 1 pick of the 2018 NFL Draft responded to an Instagram comment stating he will “absolutely” kneel during the anthem. Mayfield then issued a longer comment on the matter on his Instagram story:
“Everybody so upset about my comment doesn’t understand that kneeling was the most respectful way to support our military while also standing up for equality. I have the utmost respect for our military, cops, and people that serve OUR country. It’s about equality and everybody being treated the same because we are all human. It’s been ignored for too long and that is my fault as well for not becoming more educated and staying silent. If I lose fans, that’s okay. I’ve always spoken my mind. And that’s from the heart.”
“So I don’t know – are guys going to shower one at a time all day? Are guys going to lift weights one at a time all day? These are things the league and PA need to get a handle on and get agreed on with some common sense so we can operate in a 13-hour day in training cap in order to get our work done ... I’m a little frustrated with what I’m hearing there, and they need to get that pinned down.”
Harbaugh said he believes enough smart people involved with this process will come up with practical guidelines that make sense, but does not want to see a situation where some teams are skirting the rules and others are not. Clearly there is a lot of work to be done here, and no one knows exactly how the pandemic will impact individual states around the country as we get into August.

The “Buckeye Pledge,” obtained and reported by the Columbus Dispatch, asks players to “help stop the spread of the COVID-19” and accept “I may be exposed to COVID-19 and other infections.” By signing the two-page electronic pledge, players agree to testing and potential self-quarantining, monitoring for symptoms, reporting any potential exposure in a timely manner and to practice Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines, such as wearing a mask and practicing social distancing.
The waiver states “any failure to comply with my Buckeye Pledge above may lead to immediate removal of athletic participation privileges (not my athletics scholarship) and/or the inability to use athletics facilities.”
