Good morning, GGN! I hope you’re all having a great start to the day. Have the Jets been so mediocre in recent years that they are actually being under-rated? According to BR’s Maurice Moton they are, as he’s deemed them as the dark horse to win the AFC East this year. I’ll be the first to tell you that no, the Jets are not in fact under-rated. And while anything is possible, the likelihood of the Jets winning the division is actually quite slim. Sure, Tom Brady left the division, the Bills have been as consistent as the Jets (or even less-so), and the Dolphins are the definition of a question mark. But the Jets haven’t done anything this off-season to suggest that they will actually build off of last season’s success. They drafted Becton and Mims who have the possibility of being game-changers, but the majority of the cast this year is the same as last year. That would be a team that went 7-9 while having one of the easiest schedules in the entirety of the NFL — and losing to two winless teams in the process. This year they have one of the hardest schedules; and while the rest of the AFC East faces similar opponents, let’s not count our chickens before they hatch.
