That report was false, a league source said. Warren still might join the organization, but it won’t be for that role. https://t.co/0XtFqFTgJA
— Matthew Paras (@Matthew_Paras) July 15, 2020
Scott will now oversee advance scouting of opponents+will also be responsible for the evaluation and writing of player reports on potential talent in NFL free agency and all other pro leagues. He'll continue to assist with the evaluation of trade scenarios during the Draft.. https://t.co/IbVcYMG9di
— Adam Caplan (@caplannfl) July 15, 2020
Yeah, Washington said it was going to wait to scrap Redskins until its review was completed, but this release makes no mention of the name. It'll be interesting to see how Redskins Park looks in a few weeks for camp. https://t.co/7pSSkMbDXt

And again. Jonathan Allen has a top 5 bull-rush among interior DL btw. LOVE his game. pic.twitter.com/cVwLZGYek9

Here's my guy SDH - yeah, the guy who is the best LB on this team.

.@ColinCowherd: Who is the single most talented high school QB you ever saw?@CoachUrbanMeyer: Dwayne Haskins if you talk about pure ability to throw the football... I sat there for 2 hours and watched him throw. He was better than most college QBs that I've had in my system. pic.twitter.com/bVfZY4hadQ

PAY ATTENTION - With Larry Michael gone, Washington's HOF voter absolutely should be @john_keim. This is not up for debate.
— Rick Snider (@Snide_Remarks) July 15, 2020
I mean Larry Michael has been the most forward-facing internal member of Skins media for the last 15 years and the team didn't even send a tweet wishing him well. This entire thing is absolutely nuts.

Comparing Peterson vs. Gore is fascinating. Here are their career rushing totals through each age, and also by calendar year.
— Football Perspective (@fbgchase) July 15, 2020
Peterson has more career rushing yards than Gore through each age up until current (age 34 season), but will he finish with more yards? pic.twitter.com/yq7vetqxnr
Statement from Washington play by play voice Larry Michael: “After 16 great years my time with the organization is over. As of today I’ll be retiring from my position with the team. As a lifelong Washingtonian I was blessed to work with a lot of great people. (1)
— John Keim (@john_keim) July 15, 2020
I don't know any more than this. I do know Larry was always kind to me and welcoming.

Hi everyone I need to clear something up. I want them to change the name and am embarrassed if I did anything that slows that down. I thought if I hoarded all the good names that would keep someone else who might be a pain in the neck from getting them.
— Martin McCaulay (@MartinMcCaulay) July 14, 2020
Speculate on prior motives all you want if you don't believe I just wanted them to change the name, now i just want this albatross around my neck gone.
— Martin McCaulay (@MartinMcCaulay) July 14, 2020
These trademarks are the most indefensible trademarks in the history of trademarks. Any trademark attorney would get them cancelled to clear the way for the Washington team to use them. I just thought my way of cooperating might be easier than litigation.

Here’s another sign of how unusual this season already is: The 12 players scheduled to play a full season under the franchise tag would be the most since the tag was implemented in 1993. https://t.co/N2YxSFCcF3

Titans and RB Derrick Henry is signing a four-year, $50 million contract that includes $25.5 million guaranteed, source tells ESPN.
— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) July 15, 2020
In one off-season, the Titans keep both Henry and Ryan Tannehill on long-term deals.
"I wanted to stay with the Tennessee Titans. They are the ones that took a chance on me. 31 teams passed on me in the draft and they selected me. I have a lot of love for Tennessee. I have a lot of love for everyone in that organization.” - Derrick Henry
— James Palmer (@JamesPalmerTV) July 15, 2020
Yup! But also, if you look at the grind-type RB that he is, there is normally more $$ available as an older back. The quick/speed guys lose a step while the bruisers tend to produce for longer periods. Might work out for the #Titans too. https://t.co/65Axa3rx4B
— Kennedy Paynter (@Kennedy_Paynter) July 16, 2020
Former Seahawks’ LB Mychal Kendricks, who tore his ACL Dec. 30 against San Francisco, was medically cleared today by Dr. Daniel Cooper to resume playing, per source. Kendricks is a free agent.
— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) July 15, 2020
#Eagles WR Alshon Jeffery is expected to start the preseason on the PUP list as he continues to recover from December Lisfranc surgery. This is a tough injury to fully recover from, and at 30 it will be even more challenging. High Risk.
— Inside Injuries (@InsideInjuries) July 15, 2020
Source: Before the NFL deadline Tuesday for teams to sign franchise-tagged players, Dak Prescott and Cowboys EVP Stephen Jones had a very brief conversation that the team requested and Todd France - the QB’s agent - helped to facilitate. 1/2
— Ed Werder (@WerderEdESPN) July 15, 2020
The Cowboys asked Prescott to call Jones. He consulted with France and engaged the team. France also had a separate conversation with Jones to no avail. Prescott thus becomes 3rd NFL QB to play on franchise tag.
— Ed Werder (@WerderEdESPN) July 15, 2020
Cowboys owner and GM Jerry Jones and the front office have a reputation around the league for believing they can finalize contracts if they can converse with their player directly and privately. So the attempt today with Prescott was no surprise.

— NFL Update (@MySportsUpdate) July 15, 2020
I disagree that the Cowboys should have let La'el Collins walk. He's a top five RT in the league, and RTs in today's NFL are expected to be able to handle elite edge rushers one on one just as often as LTs.
— Brett Kollmann (@BrettKollmann) July 15, 2020
Great tackles don't grow on trees. Pay 'em when you get 'em. https://t.co/GNgYNvbXp9
Technicality update: Titans RB Derrick Henry’s new contract did not show up on today’s NFL wire, per sources. However, Henry already signed his franchise tender, so today’s new deal counts as a contract renegotiation and those don’t appear on NFL’s waiver wire like a new contract

I just read that Elena Delle Donne takes 64 pills a day to treat Lyme disease. As in, 64. I take one and it bothers me. 64 is petrifying.
— Grant Paulsen (@granthpaulsen) July 16, 2020
Oh, and she's apparently been told she can't opt-out (with pay) of the WNBA season despite the disease. That seems outrageous.
@De11eDonne and I were roommates during USA tryouts. The thing I most vividly remember noting after the first couple days was the amount of pills she had to take. Nobody is doing that voluntarily. https://t.co/MEGpdoPVJr
