Report: Evidence of witnesses bribed in Quinton Dunbar’s alleged armed robbery case

The Quinton Dunbar case appears to have taken another turn.

Just days after the Seahawks’ cornerback added a second lawyer to his defense team and hours after it was reported Dunbar had received permission to fly to Seattle for training camp, a New York Daily News exclusive claims there is video evidence and more that show a payoff of witnesses.

Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News reported on Friday evening that a warrant, obtained as a public record, seeks access to iCloud accounts which show video footage and direct messages that allegedly show a witness facilitating payments to Dunbar and Giants cornerback DeAndre Baker’s four victims. According to Leonard, this payoff occurred at the office of Dunbar’s attorney Michael Grieco, where the four witnesses were paid a total of $55,000.

Shortly after the warrant was issued for Dunbar’s arrest, Grieco told reporters he had a sworn affidavit from five witnesses exonerating his client. Similarly, Baker’s attorney Bradford Cohen claimed to have testimony from two witnesses saying they never saw Baker rob anyone.

Cohen responded to Leonard’s report on Friday evening, claiming it to be false and defamatory.

Leonard later followed up on his initial report, citing Giants sources who said they did not expect Baker to remain on the roster much longer. Baker, a first-round pick by the team in 2019, could soon be cut. Though the Seahawks have yet to respond to Leonard’s report directly or indirectly, it’s fair to wonder how much longer Dunbar will stick on their roster.
