What’s everyone doing for Bastille Day?
Merry Tuesday, everyone!
I hope y’all are having an enjoyable work week. I was insanely busy yesterday, with more of the same in store for me today, but I’m hoping to get time to join in the comments once or twice throughout the day.
Topic of the day: Does anyone plan to attend any NFL games this season, if and when there is a season, and if so, which game? If you’re going to a game, but not planning on attending a game in Minneapolis, where do you plan to attend? I think we’ll try to get to a game, and we’ve been wanting to get to a Vikings game at a different stadium, so this might be a good year to do that. We’ll see, let’s hope they have a season.
Around the DN since our last open thread:
From Chris, Nate Staley has officially signed his rookie contract.
The Washington Redskins changed their team name, per Chris.
Other Vikings/NFL news, and random oddities and annoyances:
From AZCentral.com, Greg Olson will assume FOX’s number two NFL analyst position upon his retirement. I like Olson, he’ll be a massive improvement over a majority of what we’re forced to listen to now. Well, I watch on mute, so I’m not forced to listen to them, I may unmute the game if Olsen is announcing.
The NFL and Oakley came up with face shields that will protect players, per FoxSports.
From the Sporting News, there was a leak of Madden NFL ratings. Judging by the number of stories I’m seeing about the subject, that must be an important bit of news to the youngens. The last time I played that game, Vince Young was on the cover.
We come to today’s media selection:
From Key & Peele, things can get difficult when you don’t know how to count money. Stay in school, kids. Enjoy!
Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:
-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-Take the gender hatred elsewhere, it won’t be tolerated
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)
-If discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can’t disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away\
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it’s sarcasm.
With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on. Don’t wash your hands, touch each other’s faces often, and try the finger food.
