Plus, how do fans think the chemistry between Baker Mayfield and Odell Beckham will be in 2020?

This past week, we finished covering the wide receiver position in our training camp previews. At the end of each preview, we include a poll to gauge fan feedback heading into the season.

To start off Part 1, we asked what fan expectations were for the chemistry between Baker Mayfield and Odell Beckham in 2020, considering the fact that the pandemic and Beckham’s offseason surgery have prevented the two from working together. 73% believe the chemistry will be better, 24% think it’ll be about the same, and 3% think it’ll get worse. I’m usually optimistic, but I think it’ll fall into the category of being about the same.

Next up, we asked flat out whether fans think Rashard Higgins will make the final roster. 94% believe he will.

Staying with the topic of Higgins, our poll in Part 2 of our preview began with asking who fans thought would be the team’s third receiver this year. 82% of fans voted for Higgins, showing the strong support he still has among the Cleveland fanbase. Next up was rookie Donovan Peoples-Jones, who had 13% of the vote.

Regarding more players on the roster bubble, between Donovan Peoples-Jones, JoJo Natson, and KhaDarel Hodge, we asked who fans thought would make the roster. The individual category results are below, but I’ll list my own percentages for each player, summed from each poll option.

  • 93% think Peoples-Jones will make the roster
  • 68% think Natson will make the roster
  • 47% think Hodge will make the roster

Lastly, in Part 3 of our preview, we asked which of the remaining receivers intrigued fans the most. 63% of the vote went to D.J. Montgomery, with undrafted free agent Ja’Marcus Bradley also getting some love with 24% of the vote.

Next up, we will begin previewing the tight end position for the Browns.
