Will I ever be able to fully comprehend how he did this? Nope. Never https://t.co/m0wznsRumJ

Alex Smith legit making @WashingtonNFL‘s 53-man roster (no IR) is amazing. Love that he per Ron gave passionate plea to play again. But Ron made clear that Alex still is rusty. Ideal scenario remains him never starting again for WFT due to Dwayne Haskins putting chokehold on QB1.
— Al Galdi (@AlGaldi) September 5, 2020
Coach Rivera just said that if a situation arises against Philadelphia, he would feel comfortable putting Alex Smith in the game.
— Kyle Stackpole (@kylefstackpole) September 5, 2020
Here's Ron Rivera on Alex Smith, including the revelation that he did full 11-on-11 work the last two days of practice.

"He was very passionate about wanting the opportunity to play again." pic.twitter.com/gRuWRa8JtC
You dont keep players on the active roster if you dont think they can play
— JP Finlay (@JPFinlayNBCS) September 5, 2020
Update here. Ryan Bee actually lands on IR along with Reuben Foster, Mike Liedtke, Simeon Thomas, and Jordan Veasy.

This first photo popped up as a Facebook memory today. You’ve come a long ways, @AntonioGibson14, from 4 to 14 to 24! Super proud of you. Keep your eyes on Christ and keep moving forward! pic.twitter.com/pDO7TgqKro

Why do we fall? So we can learn to pick ourselves back up again!

I was cut 8 times. After so much athletic success in your life, it’s jarring to be released. As I see young men walking out with heads held high, I know they are building a unique resilience today that will last a lifetime. Respect and well wishes to you all across the league.

Ha. Doesn’t matter if you could see it. Was The people in the org who most Def could see it. Some felt had looked very average. Bryce Love is not that guy right now. So, no, not the “best kept secret”. I’d say he was 50-50 until two days ago. Key: feeling could help down road.
— John Keim (@john_keim) September 5, 2020
Turns out DT is not exactly the same since Caleb Brantley was on the initial 53 last year https://t.co/V7YqPSEQTD
— Kyle Stackpole (@kylefstackpole) September 5, 2020
Just compared the initial 53-man rosters from 2019 and 2020. @WashingtonNFL has 28 of the same players but only 9 on offense (1 QB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 5 OL).
— Kyle Stackpole (@kylefstackpole) September 5, 2020
Expect a totally different offense this year, which should make fans excited.https://t.co/IgEyYyBZsC

Landon Collins moving back to his college number #26 with Peterson release.
— Paul Conner (@P_ConnerJr) September 5, 2020
So the People's Corner Jimmy Moreland will be sporting #20.
IF the NFL doesn't have something to say about all the #20 Collins jerseys they printed.
Annnnnnnnnnnd I'm an idiot. https://t.co/7RuZLy1BYm

I will say WR Hakeem Butler is available on waivers and Washington liked him in 2019 and it owns the 2nd waiver spot and has only five WR on the roster. So, there's a waiver claim idea. https://t.co/wPQRGHxQcU
— Ben Standig (@BenStandig) September 5, 2020
For the people letting me know the team changed coaches since the 2019 NFL Draft. First, appreciate the reminder. Second, the dudes who scouted Butler and colleges then still live here. https://t.co/fzQ7CJJi1I
— Ben Standig (@BenStandig) September 5, 2020
Not sure how waiving Shaquem will impact contract discussions with Shaquill (assuming Shaquem is claimed on waivers). Those two are as close as can be tho. Have been their whole lives. Wrote about their college days together earlier in camp. https://t.co/uvZqB1smGC pic.twitter.com/vIFYXSYSbv

Jake Butt recovered from his third ACL injury to make the Broncos' 53. That's awesome. He's one of the good ones.https://t.co/NuT8gJFSos
— Nicki Jhabvala (@NickiJhabvala) September 5, 2020
I asked Ron Rivera if Washington will need more WRs, and Rivera explained that with the versatility at RB the team didnt need 6 WRs. McKissic and Gibson can play slot

Washington is middle of the pack - ranked 14th at 25.8 yrs old. Jax youngest, Falcons oldest. https://t.co/dWVCqHyexW

Non WFT news: The Seahawks released former Washington WR Paul Richardson. Joined the Seahawks recently.
— Ben Standig (@BenStandig) September 5, 2020
Source: The #Eagles are expected to release CB Sidney Jones, a former 2nd round pick who never found his footing.
— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) September 5, 2020
For players cut today, I’d assume they have to pass the Covid protocol if they’re claimed by a new team which is two negative tests three days a part so the earliest a guy could join his new team is Wednesday? Makes it pretty difficult to contribute anything week 1

NFL, NFLPA update their covid-19 protocols for the season to address testing, sideline mask-wearing, travel, day-after-the-game work, even the coin toss.... https://t.co/fsAcqBGx7Q
— MarkMaske (@MarkMaske) September 6, 2020
New: The NFL finalized its COVID testing policy for the 2020 season.
— Ben Volin (@BenVolin) September 5, 2020
There will be NO testing on game day. For a 1 pm Sunday game, the last test will be collected at 8:30 am Saturday pic.twitter.com/2dhSa6Ak5j
Under the updated protocols for the season, each team can be represented by only one person, wearing a mask, for the pregame coin toss.
— MarkMaske (@MarkMaske) September 5, 2020
Players "not actively engaged in play" must wear masks while on the sidelines for games in San Francisco and Buffalo, under state and local regulations. In other cities, masks are "strongly recommended, but not required" for players on the sideline.
— MarkMaske (@MarkMaske) September 5, 2020
Under updated protocols for season between NFL and NFLPA, Tier 1 and Tier 2 staff (including players) cannot enter the team facility on the day after a game unless in need of medical treatment or the team is on a short week before its next game.
— MarkMaske (@MarkMaske) September 5, 2020
Under protocols for season, players and coaches are tested on day before game but not on game day. If there is an inconclusive test result, a point-of-care test can be performed, as long as the test result is available 2 hours before kickoff, to determine eligibility for game.
