The Denver Broncos await MRI results. Team fears Von Miller might be done for the season.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Von Miller could be out for the 2020 NFL season after suffering a “freak” ankle injury.
The leg injury that NFL Network said Von Miller suffered is an ankle injury, per source. There’s fear that it’s season ending, per sources. Miller was hurt near the end of practice, what one person called “a freak” injury. Team still evaluating MRI now.

KOA’s Mike Klis has confirmed that the Broncos do expect Von Miller to need surgery.
Per source, Von Miller suffered a lower leg injury in ankle area on one of last play's of practice today. He had MRI, going to consult with Dr. Robert Anderson in Green Bay. Surgery expected. Doesn't look good. #9sports

If Von Miller is indeed out for the season, it would be a huge blow to the Broncos’ pass rush. Last season Miller tallied more than twice the individual pressures of any other defensive player on the roster. With Fangio already confirming Bradley Chubb isn’t near 100%, it could fall on Jurrell Casey and the interior line to create havoc against the Tennessee Titans.
In the longer term, things could be even bleaker. Covid-19 has made the future cap outlook for most teams in the NFL pretty rough. There is no guarantee John Elway won’t look at Miller’s advancing age and look to pull the plug. The future Hall of Famer carries a $22,125,000 cap number in 2021 and moving him would only carry $4,125,000 in dead cap.
I hope it doesn’t come to that.
