Three reasons the Cowboys will win Super Bowl LV: Dak Prescott torches the NFL, The Infinity Gauntlet and more - Patrik Walker, CBSSports.com

Super Bowl? Here are some reasons to believe.

The Infinity Gauntlet...There’s no other way to describe the Cowboys offense going into 2020. As I’ve mentioned, they grabbed CeeDee Lamb in a scenario where he shouldn’t have been available at all, waved goodbye to Witten and promoted Jarwin, and now have McCarthy overseeing the arrangement of the Infinity Stones like Thanos. Both Amari Cooper and Michael Gallup are coming off of 1,000-yard seasons, and Elliott has been doing quite a bit of work on running routes in training camp, which includes sometimes lining up as a slot receiver. It is a foregone conclusion Pollard will get more consistent reps as well, now that Moore understands how to now peak-and-valley him to death — a problem attributable to growing pains in the first year as an NFL coordinator — and having seen fullback Jamize Olawale opt out simply kicks the door open for more two-halfback sets.

The Cowboys offense isn’t bulletproof, though. The retirement of Travis Frederick opened up a hole at center, but Joe Looney played very well in 2018 when tasked with doing the same that season. They also drafted another Wisconsin legend in Tyler Biadasz, who likely won’t beat out Looney as starter for Week 1, but could very well do so before the season is out and, in the process, reveal himself as the future at the position. The biggest concern is left guard, with both Connor Williams and Connor McGovern returning from injury and the latter having yet to take a snap in the NFL after redshirting his rookie year with a torn pec. Look for Williams to get the start, and if he plays as well as he did in Year 2 before the late season injury, the Cowboys will be in good shape left of center.

3 players the Cowboys should sneak onto the practice squad, including a CB with rare combo of physical traits - John Owning, Dallas Morning News

The practice squad has expanded this year, and the Cowboys will try to get some of their own signed to it.

At 6-3, 209 pounds, DiNucci is elusive in the pocket and thrives outside the structure of his offense. He displayed impressive touch on deep balls and showed off enough wheels to keep a defense honest. He could become head coach Mike McCarthy’s new version of Matt Flynn — a player who develops into an effective backup quarterback who could potentially be trade bait in the future.

Many worry that exposing DiNucci to the waiver wire could lead to Dallas losing its developmental quarterback, but that worry may be misplaced. It seems like it’s almost every year that fans get irrationally worried about another team poaching the Cowboys’ latest developmental quarterback, yet it rarely happens. And that was when other teams actually had preseason tape to scout. This season, with no preseason games and McCarthy releasing as little information as possible to the public, it seems even less likely another team would poach DiNucci, so the Cowboys could test their luck and try to sneak the rookie onto the practice squad.

The Cowboys have done their best to keep DiNucci off other teams’ radars during camp. When asked about DiNucci, quarterbacks coach Doug Nussmeier said, “talented guy. He’s got a long way to go. ... The speed of the game for him is fast.”

Dak On Social Justice, CeeDee’s Potential & More - Staff, Dallascowboys.com

The Dallas signal-caller continues to lead on and off the field.

Prescott said the team continues to have productive internal conversations about furthering the cause for social justice in the U.S. after last week's incident in Kenosha, Wisconsin where Jacob Blake, a 29-year-old Black man, was shot by police. "Very unfortunate. Just another situation that we see we need help," Prescott said. "We need help as communities, as people we need to come together, help one another, support one another and love. And I think that's what those team meetings are about is how do we do that -- to educate ourselves, to know the importance it is to vote and have the right people that are representing us. That's what that team meeting was (last week) and we've had meetings past that." Also on the topic of social justice and racial equality, Prescott was asked if the team has made a decision on how to approach the pregame national anthem this season. He said private conversations are ongoing and the goal is to support each other's individual thoughts and feelings. "Right now it's about listening to the other man, having empathy for him and understanding where he may be coming from," he said.

How excited is Prescott about first-round pick CeeDee Lamb? His confidence in the rookie receiver is "to the roof." "To get into training camp, to see what he's done, to see what he can do, I think he's had as good of a camp as anyone has, any position on this team," Prescott said. "It's exciting. As I said before, he's going to play a huge role in our success, not only this year but in the future. I'm excited for it, excited for him."

Leighton Vander Esch Is Healthy and Ready for the 2020 Season - Mauricio Rodriguez, Inside The Star

A healthy Leighton Vander Esch will be key to an improved defense in 2020.

For Leighton Vander Esch, all the pieces seem to be in place for him to bounce back after a somewhat disappointing 2019. Mike Nolan has been rumored to be a big fan of #55 since the 2018 Draft and playing him in the middle makes almost too much sense. “[…] I thought because of the size thing with Leighton that taking on people may be a little strength,” said Mike Nolan a few weeks ago in a press conference.

The one thing that might stand in the way between Vander Esch and a huge 2020 is his health. Prior to the 2018 NFL Draft, some teams went as far as taking him off the board because of health-related red flags. The question becomes: Will be if he can overcome his injury history without hiccups before he becomes another “I wish he could’ve stayed healthy” type of player?

Just over a week away from the regular season, Vander Esch is as healthy as ever. When the defense takes the field to face Sean McVay’s Rams, he’ll be staring right at Jared Goff. He’s ready.

Ezekiel Elliott: Cowboys Won't 'Do Anything Dumb' to Impact Season Amid COVID-19 - Adam Wells, Bleacher Report.com

The Cowboys running back shared his thoughts on the COVID season.

Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott believes his team will take necessary precautions to ensure they make it through the 2020 season amid the coronavirus pandemic. Speaking to reporters, Elliott explained the Cowboys won't "do anything dumb" to put other players and their family members at risk:

"We all are here to play football. We're not going to do anything dumb to jeopardize that. It's really not about you. It's about the guy next to you. You don't want to get that guy sick. You don't want to have him going home to his family and get it. It's more of an accountability thing, just keeping each other accountable. It's not about you. It's about the guys around you in this locker room and their families."
