Mackensie Alexander returns to Bengals practice

Alexander briefly left the team to search for his missing father, who was later found safe.

It’s been a very emotional time for Bengals cornerback Mackensie Alexander.

Over the course of three days, Alexander learned his father was missing, got arrested for confronting the man who left his father behind, then was thankfully reunited with his father who was found alive and well.

Lost in the shuffle of today’s Joe Mixon news was Alexander made his return to the Bengals and took part in Tuesday’s practice.

Alexander was actually back with the Bengals on Monday, according to his Instagram story (via @AllBengals).

Alexander, who signed a one-year deal this offseason following a four-year career with the Vikings, is vying to Cincinnati’s starting slot cornerback this season. Though with starting boundary corner Trae Waynes set to miss most of the 2020 season, Alexander could wind up playing a heavy amount of snaps in the slot and outside, then hopefully land a long-term contract with someone in the 2021 offseason.

Regardless of what role Alexander has on the 2020 Bengals, it’s just great to see him back with his teammates knowing his father is safe and in good health.
