Game week?!
Merry Monday Tuesday, everyone!
Well, the time is almost here, a time for an event that many of us thought may not even happen. Yes, in two short days, the NFL 2020 season is set to begin. The season actually kicks off on Thursday when the Texans travel to KC to take on the Chiefs, but the season that REALLY matters begins on Sunday at noon, when the Packers take on the Vikings. It’s only the first game of the season, but this is an important game. The Vikings, along with all the other teams, have gone through the same ordeal, waiting for a season that may not happen, so I’m looking to see how the Vikings come out of the gate. Will they be able to focus on their game and ignore the changes and distractions? I hope so.
I’m also interested to see the Packers, and namely A-a-ron Rogers, play this game. As we all know, the Packers (unnecessarily) moved up in the first round to select Jordan Love in the draft. Love is obviously the heir-apparent to Rogers, and I wonder how Rogers will handle that. Some quarterbacks would use it as motivation, and come out and have a career year (look at Favre’s play after Rogers was selected in the draft), but will Rogers be able to do that? I’m not sure, but it’ll be interesting to see.
In the end, my hope is (as it always is) that the Vikes put a notch in the W column while sustaining no injuries. I also hope to see Rogers get sacked at least a dozen times. SKOL!!!!

From Vikings.com, the team released their first unofficial depth chart of the 2020 season, hear Zimmer discuss that depth chart and many other subjects, and there’s a TON more to sift through in the media vault.
From NFL.com, players are not allowed to do jersey swaps on the field after games this year due to Covid-19 concerns, but can do the swaps by mail. The NFL has partnered with Tide, who will pay for laundering the jerseys prior to them being mailed. Ummmm.....a couple things, 1) these guys bleed on each other, spit on each other, and have 10 guys piled on top of each other dozens of times per game, but a couple dudes exchaning f****** jerseys after the game is a concern? LOL, and 2) the NFL makes how many billions, but they had to bring in a partner to front the cost of some laundry soap? Goofballs.
