The Cowboys owner updated the injury situation on a couple of starters, and the Cowboys made a roster move.
The Dallas Cowboys put forth one of their more impressive defensive performances last Sunday night, and they did it without the help of some key players.
Randy Gregory, David Irving, and Xavier Woods are all potential starters who missed the home opener, and while Irving is only halfway through his suspension it appears that the other two might be able to play this week when the Cowboys travel to Seattle, at least according to Jerry Jones on 105.3 The Fan on Tuesday.
Owner and general manager Jerry Jones said on 105.3 The Fan in Dallas that the belief is Xavier Woods (hamstring) and Randy Gregory (concussion) will have a chance at playing at Seattle. Woods has missed the first two games. Gregory did not play against the Giants.

Gregory and Woods have been dealing with concussion and hamstring injuries, respectively. We saw Gregory play in the season opener at Carolina for a limited number of snaps, but we haven’t seen Woods since the preseason.
Obviously the Cowboys are playing the Seahawks this Sunday which means that they are playing against Earl Thomas who’s services they tried to acquire. Xavier Woods is the starter at the spot Thomas would play in Dallas, so it would be somewhat poetic if he got the chance to make his debut there across from him.
In additional news, coincidentally concerning the safety position, the Cowboys made a move to make room for the addition of Brice Butler.
You can only have 53 players on your NFL roster so Dallas had to let someone go in order to make room for Brice. While many had speculated that it could be Terrance Williams (we heard he was safe over the weekend), the move is now official. Tyree Robinson is the cut.
The Cowboys released rookie safety Tyree Robinson to make room for WR Brice Butler. Dallas now has seven receivers on the 53-man roster.

This release raises a whole bunch of questions:
- Does this hint that Xavier Woods, as noted above, has a good chance to go this Sunday?
- Do the Cowboys plan on adding to their safety group after this Sunday (the game against Seattle)?
- Why do the Cowboys have seven (Monica Gellar hand sign) wide receivers on their team?
- Is Tyree headed to the practice squad now?
It will likely be some time before we have all of these answers, but for now we at least know who is out so that Brice Butler can be in.
