Another offensive tackle!
Another day. Another morning where the sun rose, where you drove to work, where you sit there and think intently on upcoming NFL Free Agency, and what the Texans will do at the end of April when the 2019 NFL Draft gets going.
Another mock draft. This one is from Todd McShay of ESPN. He has the Texans selecting an offensive tackle. If you know who the person is in the image above, you already know the answer. If you don’t, well, it’s:
23. Houston Texans: Cody Ford, OT, Oklahoma
The secondary is going to have some holes, and I do like the idea of Dexter Lawrence plugging the middle of Romeo Crennel’s 3-4 defense. But the Texans allowed 62 sacks last season, the league high by six. Full stop. Ford is a big mauler who would help keep franchise QB Deshaun Watson off his back, and he could play tackle or guard.
Cody Ford. I now know what he looks like.
What do you think about the pick? Are you just happy it’s someone other than Greg Little? Are you still annoyed that cornerback is being ignored in these imaginary scenarios where anything is possible and the bounds of reality are escapable?
