As the news broke today about the upcoming suspension for Arizona Cardinals superstar cornerback Patrick Peterson, news of his discontent earlier for the team was also coming to light.
In March, Peterson posted a number of cryptic messages on his Instagram while also replacing his Arizona Cardinals photos.
This made rumors run wild as to what the heck was going on. Only two months earlier Peterson had pledged his renewed allegiance to the Cardinals and the fans.
Now, John Gambadoro of Arizona Sports 98.7 is reporting that the reason for Peterson’s dissatisfaction and the reason he has not been to at OTA’s is because he is not happy the Cardinals did not help him out with the financial repercussions he would incur due to the suspension:
Arizona Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson was upset the team could not rework his contract knowing he was facing a performance-enhancing drug suspension, multiple sources told 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station’s John Gambadoro.
Peterson was not asking to be traded. He knew the suspension was coming and wanted to rework his contract and avoid taking losses, Gambadoro added. He believed he could have saved $2 million or more.
So, in the end Peterson wanted the Arizona Cardinals to help him out with his upcoming suspension and took umbrage that they would not.
Maybe the act is wearing a bit thin at this point.
Also, maybe when the front office makes a decision to take a corner at the top of the second round, there is a reason for that.
