Report: Giants to add ex-Browns assistant Jody Wright to coaching staff

Cleveland Browns Rookie Mini Camp Jody Wright

The staff continues to fill out

Make it a trifecta of assistant coaches added on Tuesday by the New York Giants, with the report that the Giants will add former Cleveland Browns assistant Jody Wright to their coaching staff.

Wright was an offensive assistant for the Browns last season. His role on the Giants’ coaching staff remains unclear. Wright has experience coaching running backs, tight ends and the offensive line.

Wright was offensive line and assistant head coach at the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2018. He was also the running backs coach at UAB in 2014.

Wright has a connection to Giants head coach Joe Judge from their time together at Alabama. Wright was director of player personnel at Alabama from 2015-17 and was a graduate assistant/offensive analyst for the Crimson Tide from 2010-12. Judge was at Alabama from 2009-2011.

The Giants also reportedly added Bret Bielema as a defensive assistant and Jerome Henderson as defensive backs coach on Tuesday.
