Broncos vs. Steelers Wednesday injury update: A.J. Bouye sent to IR

The Denver Broncos are dropping starters like crazy to start the season, so its next man up as they travel to face the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 2.

The Denver Broncos confirmed on Wednesday that they will place cornerback A.J. Bouye on injured reserve for the next three weeks as he rehabs from a dislocated shoulder suffered in Week 1 against the Tennessee Titans.

It’s a three week timeline now under the new IR rules from the NFL this year, but the loss still hurts as the team is set to face Ben Roethlisberger and Tom Brady in back-to-back weeks.

The other big name on the list of injuries from that game was running back Phillip Lindsay who got knocked out by turf toe. Head Coach Vic Fangio reveal that the MRI results from Lindsay’s injury came back positive, so he may not miss much time.

“Yeah, I think we did. Phillip’s, I was happy with the results. It wasn’t as bad as it could be. I believe in A.J.’s case it was what they were expecting.”

On the Pittsburgh Steelers side of things, they had a laundry list of players who did not participate in practice on Wednesday due to injury. It would appear the Broncos are not the only team in the NFL right now struggling to keep their marquee players healthy.

Here is your full Broncos-Steelers practice participation reports for Wednesday.
