Another addition to the team’s practice squad

There’s been several moves made throughout the week as the Atlanta Falcons adjust following a Week 1 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. Corner back Josh Hawkins was released from the practice sqaud, offensive lineman Timon Parris was released from the roster while John Wetzel was signed to it.

With that, some corresponding moves were made as the team signed wide receiver Laquon Treadwell who was with the team throughout training camp to the practice squad. The other move, which the team announced on Wednesday afternoon, was that they’ve signed defensive tackle David Moa to fill the final practice squad spot.

Moa went undrafted in 2020 and was signed by the Minnesota Vikings, where he was throughout training camp until the team’s cut down process began. Moa has tremendous 6’3, 296 lbs size and spent six years at Boise State where he earned three All-Mountain West honors. Moa sustained an injury in 2018, but bounced back in 2019 having his best season of his collegiate career with 37 tackles and a sack.

Outside of defensive end Austin Edwards, Moa is now the only other defensive line player on the practice squad. The team apparently decided against bringing back defensive tackle’s Sailosi Latu and Hinwa Allieu who were with the Falcons throughout camp.
