The season is here!

Football. Finally.

Yes, the Coronavirus pandemic in the United States is still far from over. Yes, it will look different. And yes, the New England Patriots are not yet playing. But today, for the first time in what feels like eight years, we will get to see real NFL football again. Buckle up, folks, it’s time for this year’s regular season opener.

Houston Texans (0-0) at Kansas City Chiefs (0-0)

When: 8:20 p.m. ET

Where: Arrowhead Stadium, Kansas City MO

Television: NBC

Live streaming: fuboTV (Sign up here!)

SB Nation coverage: Battle Red Blog (Texans), Arrowhead Pride (Chiefs)

Patriots rooting guide: Go Texans! Speaking strictly in football terms, New England doesn’t have a rooting preference: the team will play Houston and Kansas City this year, which means that it will get a chance to beat both of them to earn a head-to-head advantage. That being said, one would be hard-pressed to find any Patriots fans rooting for a team that is already declaring itself as the next NFL dynasty. Houston is the way to go.
